What’s the point of having a debate with Marc if you’re going to interrupt him, shout strawman arguments at him and talk over him consistently? And that’s coming from somebody who’s pro-Israel! *1.* Israel became a state in 1312 B.C.E., two millennia before Islam.
*2.* Arab refugees from Israel began calling themselves “Palestinians” in 1964, almost two decades after (modern) Israeli statehood in 1948.
*3.* After conquering the land in 1272 B.C.E., Jews ruled it for a thousand years and maintained a continuous presence there for 3,300 years.
*4.* The only Arab rule following conquest in 633 B.C.E. lasted just 22 years.
*5.* For over 3,300 years, Jerusalem was the Jewish capital. It was never the capital of any Arab or Muslim entity. Even under Jordanian rule, (East) Jerusalem was not made the capital, and no Arab leader came to visit it.
*6.* Jerusalem is mentioned over 700 times in the bible, but not once is it mentioned in the Qur’an.
*7.* King David founded Jerusalem; Mohammed never set foot in it.
*8.* Jews pray facing Jerusalem; Muslims face Mecca. If they are between the two cities, Muslims pray facing Mecca, with their backs to Jerusalem.
*9.* In 1948, Arab leaders urged their people to leave, promising to cleanse the land of Jewish presence. 68% of them fled without ever setting eyes on an Israeli soldier.
*10.* Virtually the entire Jewish population of Muslim countries had to flee as the result of violence and pogroms.
*11.* Some 630,000 Arabs left Israel in 1948, while close to a million Jews were forced to leave the Muslim countries.
*12.* In spite of the vast territories at their disposal, Arab refugees were deliberately prevented from assimilating into their host countries. Of 100 million refugees following World War 2, they are the only group tohave never integrated with their co-religionists. Most of the Jewish refugees from Europe and Arab lands were settled in Israel,a country no larger than New Jersey, USA.
*13.* There are 58 Muslim countries, not counting Palestine. There is only one Jewish state.
*14.* Fatah and Hamas constitutions still call for the destruction of Israel.
Israel ceded most of the west bank and all of Gaza to the Palestinian authority, and even provided it with arms.
*15.* During the Jordanian occupation, Jewish holy sites were vandalized and were off limits to Jews. Under Israeli rule, all Muslim and Christian holy sites are accessible to all faiths.
*16.* Out of 175 United Nations Security Council resolutions up to 1990, 97 were against Israel; out of 690 general assembly resolutions, 429 were against Israel.
*17.* The U.N. was silent when the Jordanians destroyed 58 synagogues in the old city of Jerusalem. It remained silent while Jordan systematically desecrated the ancient Jewish cemetery on the Mount of Olives, and it remained silent when Jordan enforced apartheid laws preventing Jews from accessing the temple mount and western wall.
*18.* Arabs started all five wars against Israel, and lost every one of them.

I have to admit. Based on the Piers Morgan debates... Alan Dershowitz is a good writer but not so good a debater maybe eg vs Norman Finkelstein, Mustafa Barghouti, Omar Baddar, et al. Ben Shapiro directly debates only university students, but I guess Ben did beat both Andrew Tate & Bassem Youssef indirectly. Lol. Even Emily Schrader when debating Abby Martin & Miko Peled... Him being a "celebrity Rabbi" is already sacrilegious, and his knowledge of his own religion is... Well, I don't want to say too many mean things about him...
The truth is, I'm an Israeli Jew, and even though I'm religious and a right winger, I relate to an atheist left-wing Israeli more than I relate to most American Jews. Ben Shapiro and so many others makes me cringe when he brings up the Holocaust or persecution of the Jews as justification for us being here.
None of my grandparents or any of their parents were in the Holocaust. This land isn't ours because of anything the Europeans did to us. This Land is ours because it's ours. It belongs to us because it belongs to us, trying to use persecution to justify it just concedes the argument of "who is native" to the Arabs, and it's an argument that we could very easily win.
As for Alan Dershowitz, he's an academic but does not live in reality. He continues to advocate for the "two-state solution" which is a euphemism for "ethnically cleanse Judea and Samaria and give it to the terrorists like you did in Gaza. What could go wrong?"
It seems to me that Mr Dershowitz thinks that we are so angelic that we should just commit suicide because we're too good for this world.
2. Israel loses the pr Wars partially because we don't have OPEC backing us with their petrodollars, but mostly due to our own self-sabotaging.
We constantly make the wrong arguments, and allow those who hate us to define the terms of debate, so that we are constantly on the defensive, because going on the offensive would be mean I guess.
Melanie Phillips (another one of the few advocates for Israel who doesn't make me wish to bury myself out of frustration and shame) spoke at either HebrewU or Bar Illan telling the deans exactly what they were doing wrong, and exactly why we were losing the debate, but of course... We don't change our tactics.
We don't go on the attack, and we use some of the worst possible arguments to defend our actions, we apologize when we've done nothing wrong, and we shout the things we have done wrong from the rooftops as if they are virtues, such as the horrific crime that the Israeli government committed against its people in Gaza in 2005.
And it frustrates me to no end.
Be proud of who you are like 50% of us Americans.

You're so right. I was mistakenly thinking it is beneath Yousef, an inside eye witness to Hamas,😅 to have to debate the grossly uninformed. But if he doesn't talk to these people, there is no hope to bring truth and peace. He is right that lies eventually lead to hatred and violence.
As an Arab - it is extremely offensive that a non Arab would stand up and say he’s a “middle eastern scholar”, as if to state he has “expertise”over any Arab person’s lived experience. It doesn’t matter if a lot of Arabs don’t agree with Mossab, it’s his lived experience. My husband is black, and I promise you, I would NEVER in a million years stand up infront of a group of people and say, “I’m a black scholar” - and certainly not while debating another black American. Ever. Never in a million years.

All stories matter. If you want to tell Palestinian stories based on your interviews - tell them. You should. That’s a good thing. But you aren’t black- so perhaps a bit more listening and a bit less jabbering is in order? You have spoken to how many Arabs in your interview?
