    Now I feel better about "hoarding books." There are those who seem to think I need an intervention. When the internet glitches out and we don't have access, I won't notice. I'll be wallowing ecstatically in my personal library. Love Damien's books btw. Great info.

    Damien Echols changed my life, the midnight gospel episode….the way he words it, he has a poetic and compassionate perspective that turned me onto western practices in a way that I probably would not have done otherwise. His two books are amazing intros to theurgy.

    i click on these random videos about magic that get suggested from time to time and am often very disappointed. This is the most pragmatic discussion I've heard on the topic and resonates perfectly with a lot of what I've learned. Thanks for posting this. It was a wonderful listen.

    On a real personal level, I appreciate your level headed approach to Christian influence. I was actually an alter girl who went into spiritual sensitivity and wanting to learn about the paranormal, but being told I was evil. But now, it’s a real trippy change in my life, because my mom is obsessed with Enochian angel stuff to a crazy degree. Thank you both. ❤

    the breeze blowing outside at 41:40 or so just gave me chills. something got invoked and that something signalled its' presence once evoked. or maybe just random breeze in trees outside, but there is no random. random does not explain anything because every effect is the result of what caused it....

    hello Jason, dear, from the lady that named the Blake lodge. Loved your John Dee book I have recommended it to many. One suggestion, camping should go with studies of magic, "camping in the rain always keeps you humble." You can quote me on that one. Perhaps some basic rock climbing too and starting a campfire with paper and no lighter fluid! Nice lecture/podcast. Also, I found that doing care for others, hospice, etc. that uses ALL religions studies, every recipe and more. Blessed Be! Keep making fine books and podcasts. xoxo

    I grew up in san diego, and i loved la in the 90s. I ended up moving to the south over 20 years ago, and now when i go to cali, i just cant stand it. The energy is so bad i actually feel like unaliving myself the entire time im in the state. This feeling goes away the second i get into Arizona. I think maybe i always felt the bad vibes, but was used to it so i ignored it. Now that ive been gone so long it really hits you when you go for a visit. I used to think there was so much spirituality in California until i moved to the south and realized literally everyone does magic out here. The wealth of folk magic and the stories are amazing out here. Even the most Christian person out here paints their porch ceiling blue to keep out the haints. Now i see how fake socal really is. The feeling is more like everyone is one upping each other instead of actually practicing.

    I have never liked Crowley or studied any of his works. I have always got the Vibe to be repelled from him. Most of my practice comes from direct experience with the divine. Also listening to great Podcast, like this one.

    • @alomaalber6514
      @alomaalber6514 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Crowley is interesting to read about. He finished each book he started, and he was a great mountain climber and more. I did not say he was good or morale but he finished what he put his mind to and yet said "do not lust after results". Something to be said for realism.

    • @josesuokas217
      @josesuokas217 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

      How the hell can you say you don't like someone if you've never studied their work. That's the height of ignorance. "Yea I don't like chocolate ice cream. I've never tasted it though." Come on man. Read some of his work and you'll be surprised. You don't have to like his personality to appreciate his genius in the occult.

    • @madamebutterfly851
      @madamebutterfly851 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      @josesuokas217 they just said, they follow what they feel is true, their own divination. Are you listening to the video? Magick isn't about idolzing the preists gurus and other hierophants. Your militancy to a strangers comment makes me think you have a lot of growing to do. Stop idolozing people. And Crowley was a total weirdo who repells a lot of people. Nobody has to study something they arent interesting in.

    • @carolallison9685
      @carolallison9685 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've studied him and his life from his early childhood, and its pretty clear he was just a grifter who liked to spend rich peoples money. I honestly don't believe he was doing magic. I think he found a way to convince bored wealthy people to fund his lifestyle and have sex with him.

      I grew up in the Traditional Roman Catholic Trinentine Latin Mass and always felt and believed we were engaging in the Magical. I find truth, logic, reason, beauty, and magic in many places from within and without, from above and below, it's everywhere. We just need the eyes to see and the ears to hear; using our feelings our intuition, openness and decrement, with a balanced integration of the heart and mind, based in love.

    That's what classic stoics stated about evil: It's about ignorance. Almost nobody wakes up in the morning thinking "What kind of evil shit could I do today?". Ignorance makes those people think they're acting right. Also, the most interesting fiction villains are those who see themselves as acting good, and may see the "good guys/heroes/main characters" as villains.
