1 year ago I moved into my girlfriend's house and now Im so fired up to start some gardening! I cleared some space in front of the house and starting planting some winter veggies and im so pumped up to start arranging the front of the house ! Thank you for the tips! Really enjoyed the video ! :D
My sister and I just made our first raised bed last week out of pallets! Got them for free and took a lot of elbow grease, but it was so worth it! Looks great and I plan on adding more to my garden next year at my new place!!
If you turn the pallets over, you can still use flower boxes to plant plants in the pallet supports. Sorry for my bad english and thanks for your nice channel.
In my experience anything can be a pot for growing!!! I love my garden (I only just found your channel; I love that you show how to videos; prioritising sustainability, environmental impact, creating habitats for the multitude of critters & with minimum waste!!!! Your a 10/10!!!! I’ve found excellent stuff on the side of the road repurposed old tomato creates (they make brilliant planters) as it comes with drainage premade and very sturdy!!! I’ve used old bricks (freebies from homes getting rid of them) to build raised garden beds, sources companies that recycle plastic and recreate it into, compost bins, worm farms, indoor plant pots; since having my garden (a while now) the highlight of my day is to be outside (even if it’s weeding) surrounded by the bees, wasps dragonfly’s, birds, frogs, lizards; it’s a joy all gardeners feel I’m sure!!!! Happy Gardening ALL!!! 😊😊😊
Love your videos. Am a gardener myself and have a small space in south-east London, always handy to get some extra tips. You've created a beautiful space ❤️
I never use a hand trowel for weeding. I always use a hooked patio knife. You can slice through the soil, life up weeds, hoe and reach into narrow gaps, all in one without missing a beat. I can’t do without it. A good pair of secateurs is a great investment. Don’t go for the cheap ones with the spring in the middle. They fill up with dirt and break easily. Go for the ratchet type. They are much less strain on your hands and you can cut thicker stems without force. I recommend Jardin de France secateurs. They are not cheap but they are really good quality. The best I’ve ever used. And I’ve tried a lot of different makes.
This is brilliant, killer video. I'm just getting started, after a very long time of thinking i couldn't grow at home because of reasons like budget etc. Videos like this feed my excitement for gardening, and learning more. Thanks for keeping it friendly and simple.
Charles dowding, an amazing gardener and a No Dig approach pioneer. If you’ve not heard of him and you’re interested in gardening. As well as Alessandro he’s definitely worth looking up 👍🏻
@@italianrealmadridfan9432 check out permaculture too...takes no dig like Charles even further...Sepp Holzer is a good start ...he's grown melons in the snow in Austria !!🎉💚🍑🍊🍒🥕🌽🥝
Fascinating take on urban gardening - I'm starting a new garden from scratch on open rural land, a completely different process. Find a spot by a wide tree, not too far from the house nor too close, compost pile complete. No raised beds, but I have to hack through waist-high grass to clear plots. And my "essential" tools include a hoe, and a large bucket or wheelbarrow for material transportation, but I'm not worried about gloves or watering cans or a little trowel. It's interesting how techniques vary from one setting to another.
Awesome. Your my new favorite Gardner. It's pretty cool how you do all those projects yourself without spending a bunch of money. I think that's what makes gardening cool, you don't need a bunch of money just Passion and some creativity.
I live in Southeast Brazil. Love your videos! Thanks for sharing all this knowledge whith us! I've got a home garden and I've been learning a lot with you!!
I love how you make you’re video and I watch you’re video over and over again in one day. It’s very easy to learn how you do you’re garden and it’s funny sometimes some of you’re videos are the end get hydrated 😅😂
American here, so a lot of the stuff in my zone is different growing wise! I am starting an outdoor garden for my family here soon using a lot of your tips and appreciate the information! Killer work my dude!
Love your vids. A kitchen garden is my ultimate dream but I live in an apartment, can't do much except plant in vases. Thank you for the educational tips you share ❤
In the USA, we can go to the local landfill and get organic, composted leaves, etc. This is a much cheaper option. If you have or know someone with a truch, it's much a much less expensive option. I have a Chevy Colorado and I can fill it up for about $10 USD.
Awesome info I Love gardening since my parents took us farming then had our own garden...nothing like achieving a progressive garden You Rock sir Thank you don't stop I've learned alot 👍🙏❤️
Really enjoyed this step-by-step guide format, keep up the great work! Slightly off-topic, but: A) it would be nice to see your approach with starter seeds, germination process (darkness vs. light, and for how long), sprouting and when to transplant. B) In your recycled bottles "walls", are you selective in choosing which plants you put at the top vs. closer to the last bottom row? (and what would be the characteristics you're looking for to sort them vertically)
Great job brother. Im watching u from Argentina. Some of my friend dont understand what r u saying.. i guess a subtitle will be very good, And again, u are making a great job bro.
I could just watch all your videos from start to finish! Yes yes yes!!!! Thank you for the encouragement! My garden has been a little sad. I just don’t know where to put my plants! The dang animals eat them all.. then I don’t replant’ do you have issues with critters stealing your veggies?
Love your video spicy moustache man 👨 Have you any videos on keeping insects away . Last year I grew for the 1st time broccoli, cabbages, potatoes. The broccoli and cabbages were full of catapilers
Is there a video discussing how to deal with pests and insects? I started raised beds early in the pandemic and then fell off to it because insects just ruined my harvest. I think I am going to give it another go though and just take some steps to prevent insects or pests from ruining it all.
Hello, amazing video, love it. I'm trying to make a indoor garden(like in a room o my house) but I don't see many info from that. I don't really know what to do? A indoor garden or outside. But this video give me the motivation to keep trying. (Sorry for my weird english, my native idiom is Spanish)
The highest cost for any garden is the soil and you just used straight up bags of Miracle Gro Organic Compost. That stuff couldn't have been cheap. I'd imagine you spent a couple hundred on soil alone. You have to make your own using coco coir or peat to make it cheap.
I did nothing but smile throughout this whole video. I really get a kick out of how happy and enthusiastic you are about your gardens.
