@@livinginalbuquerque I think you articulate the culture and the way of life in NM very well through the lens of a local, rather than just pump out numbers and sell viewers on living there. I also appreciate no fluff and the welcoming attitude! Also like your style too 😃
@@livinginalbuquerque You also point out not just the neighborhoods, but also the geography and how diverse the landscapes are. Hey thanks for watching our videos! Really good question, the wind doesn’t blow 100% of the time. We do get high winds from time to time but for a majority time you have a breeze just coming through.
@@livinginalbuquerque it’s not your responsibility to defend Albuquerque. There is good and bad everywhere. People can disagree with you and that’s okay. You have nothing to prove. Have lived in Albuquerque 4 times in my life. The snapshots are very different. 30/40 years ago Abq was an ideal city, top third US city, great university, lots of jobs, Microsoft started here along with the first desktop computer. Now its a bottom rated city, dead last in education, second worse in crime, and third worst in salary. Parts of the city are completely over run by criminals. Homeless on every corner begging for money. Downtown is just too dangerous to go. Central used to be a fun place to go, now its just an outdoor toilet. You have to go the extreme outskirts of the city for find civilization. We used to alternate political parties so one side couldn't go too nuts. Now the leftists have completely destroyed the place. Sanctuary status has allowed the worst of the garbage Mexico is only happy to get rid of to completely undermine everything the city used to stand for. So no, I can't recommend it anymore.
Thank you so much for watching our videos and giving us some input! 30/40 years ago is a very long time and I can't speak for that time period because I wasn't even born yet. I also think Unser was still just a dirt road at that time... You present some good points but I believe bottom rated is a bit extreme since we are not dead last in education when we're pretty equal to a major state like Texas. Crime isn't any worse than Lubbock. All though there is a homeless population, like any other major city. I don't believe that having them at every corner is realistic. I have a video talking about living in downtown ABQ and I spent a majority of my time walking around filming all the different locations myself with no issues.
@@danielmarkberghoff4201 So your response is the equivalent to sticking your tongue out? Which fact do you have counter evidence or is that too difficult?
Out of the control. The illegals steal everything. If you look at the crime map there are so many crimes that it crashes if you zoom out of a tiny neighborhood. The university is officially the most dangerous campus in the US and has been in decline despite the massive increase in population. Used to be a nice university city, now its just another failed leftist dystopia.
I moved to a small city in Texas and I miss the Abq crime scene. It’s kinda exciting. Last year I went back to Abq and I was involved in a lock down. I went to get an oil change and the police were after some drug dealer and while in the shop, I heard a bomb go off and it shuck the shop I was in. This year there was a shooting at the mall an hour after I left. When I bought my house in Abq, I was burglarized within the first month. Abq doesn’t disappoint 😊. Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, all leaving the SẼ area. I guess i have to leav too. I missed Abq. Until next year, going back to boring Texas. 🥱
The economy here is totally stagnant no real growth happening which it seems is the way people want it. Education is horrible, homelessness out here is insane (most not even from here) things cheaper here? Christ housing prices here are stupid high compared to income, you get a one bedroom apt for 1600.00 a month houses cost as much here as in Phoenix or Salt Lake yet they don’t have the jobs to support those prices? Whatever keep drinking the koolaide.
Thanks for watching the videos! I also really appreciate your opinion. Even though ABQ has some downsides (like any other city) We here at the living in Albuquerque channel focus on the positive things as we love our city along with countless other locals. The economy here isn't booming here like most major cities with millions of people but with only about half a million people ABQ has seen more economic growth than some major cities like El Paso. When I say cheaper living I am referencing to places like Northern California, and places like Denver where their average home prices are well over $500,000. Really good point, renting is expensive here and that's why in most cases it doesn't make sense to rent, hence why most people are looking to buy. To end, I don't personally know any of the homeless population but although we don't tend to focus on what living under the bridges is like. The city is making efforts on getting some of them into housing as the mayor just bought an old run down hotel for affordable housing for some of the homeless who have jobs but can't afford housing.
