@@Batou3 A lot of the story in between SC1 and SC2 HotS is covered in supplementary material, but to put it simply, he was revived via infestation, deinfested and then reinfested again by none other than Duran/Narud. Yea, you could just skip steps 2 & 3 and it wouldnt make a difference.
@@Remitonov Technically, he wasnt reinfested by Duran/Narud. Narud captured Stukov and ran experiments on him, wanted to know how the "cure" worked. What actually happened was that the cure wasnt exactly a permanent thing and Stukov began to revert to his infested form under strain.
There's a lot to like about this remade mission, but a little detail I enjoyed is the UED units crowding around Stukov's body. It reminds me of Civil War paintings where the general's been shot and all the guys are standing around him.
I love how Duran's "Infestation" leaks a bit on his voice during these exchanges, probably just subtly mocking the UED since there's no reason for it to actually leak since he most likely cannot be infested to begin with.
He just pretended to be infected, to play his part as Kerrigan's advisor. And he did actually provide useful info in briefings, because he wanted her to win at the time. Dude was a triple agent, absolute loose cannon and I love it.
One thing I find interesting about this mission is that unlike other ones in which the hero comments on stuff you find, in this it's only the Marines that interact with things, even have some funny dialogues, while Duran doesn't say a word.

Man, this mod is so master piece. I remember it like 2-4 years ago, it looked like a typical sc2, with some crappy 3D models, and what it is a brilliant!
I always wondered why DuGalle didn't give Stukov a chance to explain himself instead of ordering his execution right away. After all, DuGalle hates turncoats (like Duran), and has been friends with Stukov for a long time, so you'd think he'd want to talk to his friend first. His actions didn't seem to make sense, especially the part of him believing Duran's suggestion straight up. I always wondered if it was either bad writing, or a subtle form of mind control that Duran exerted on DuGalle. Also, Duran was never questioned by DuGalle as to why he left his position on Aiur, allowing Mengsk and co. to escape.
This is the exact part of the history of sc2 in which I feel there's a nonsense. How, after that Dugalle was hoping to talk with Mensgk before killing him, wouldn't he try to talk with his long lifetime friend? At least a small conversation? How it was possible that they were not in contact before ordering Duran to kill him? How a so diplomatic and patient character would have taken a so impulsive decisition? This part of the history could have been different, Stukov wouldn't have died, Duran would have run away, and they would have died the same way we know, only that, together, just as they arrived.
You can`t just not put the scene from Heart of the Swarm where Stukov kills Duran and literally tells him "Good night, mother...mater!" Edit: he wishes him "Good night, son of a vulva!"
Executor, you should look up a series called "The Ascension of Duran." It's a REALLY good fan-made series that covers what (probably) happened during the series from Durans POV. Take a look, The Pancake gives the series a 10/10. (You can play the series with just the maps, but there is an old mod that you can open OG Broodwar with that adds to the game play.)
I played it already but I couldnt managed to finish it because it was bugged in sc:r. It seems ruinning old campaings in remastered might cause some problems
Very curious why they used music from Fallout in this one. Not a criticism, I think it suits the atmosphere VERY well, I'm just curious what motivated them.
"Alexei and I have been friends long before you were born."
Well, about that.....
Stukov: 'I was betrayed by someone pretending to be on our side!'
Aldaris: 'First time?'

I didn’t get how he was alive for that.

Sounds like Alexi and Gerard are older than the universe
Gerard I could see being 70 years old. I thought Stukov was like 45

Indeed. Duran being a double agent was actually quite clever.
Unfortunately, it was lost in Russian localization...
Can you point out the leaks? I thought he just sounded normal.
