Love the videos! Great insight and instruction mixed with excellent humor. I also like the Mills Godwin shirt and this one. I lived in Richmond for a long time.
Lmao I'm so sorry but I busted out laughing when you slammed your thumb...too cute.. great videos btw! I just found your channel and am starting at the beginning. Your comments in other videos to use more paint...terrifies me just a tiny bit but I feel like you're talking to me so I'll try! You're so lucky you had artists parents! Can't wait to binge these videos.
I v started watching your video from the very beginning. I thought I should first finish with all of these first before joining in your patreon. Also if you read this comment do tell how many hours did you spend outside on the easel.
I have an Easy L umbrella, not cheap but i like it because if its windy it will blow off the base and not take the whole set up with it. It has a cord tied to it so it doesnt blow away. Very light weight.
Hey Coach, nice job. I've never been to FLA but this doesn't look like it. Where is your location if you don't mind me asking? By the way I really appreciate your sense of humor. Oh, and one other thing. You mentioned Josh Clare the other day. I've really admired his work for some time now. He has a real gift as does my friend Glenn Dean. So last night I ordered up his DVD's Thanks for all your help. You make a real difference to a lot of us. Keep your stick on the ice.
Hello, is it a bad idea to leave the easel standing all the time? As in everyday, every hour, and every minute. Will it damage it or will it have the same effect if you continue to pack it up every time you're done painting?
Lauren I don’t know if you put both of them in front of me if I could tell the difference. Hahah I normally go with odorless terpenoid. Whatever is most cost effective I guess.
really appreciate your humor! artists can tend to get a little too serious about what they do and how they do it. thanks you!

Question: when you have a lot of different colors mixed on your palate, do you use a different brush for each?
wonderful work!!
Why did you start with sky and paint forward instead of your usual darkest to lights?
Caddyum red is my favorite color

Nhi Truong it should be fine to leave open. I did that awhile back when I used my French easel as my main studio easel.
What umbrella setup is this?
that was a massive gust of wind!
😅
did you go to Mills E Godwin HS in Richmond va?
Paint the glass Grey on the backside then use the velcro you wont see the velcro!
Do you prefer turpentine vs mineral spirits? Or does it just depend on what your using it for?
