  • We're looking at the full workflow for editing a black and white portrait. We're going to be using Adobe Lightroom Classic and we're going to be using a few tricks to make the most of this moody portrait. From using masks to contrast and clarity, we're going in depth on how to make the most of a black and white edit.

Good tips! I'm a great fan of B/W portraits, it takes us back to basics of the old school photography style of images! Thanks for this video...

Hi Gareth, great tutorial. You talk about Lightroom, Photoshop etc. It would be great to watch a video talking about the pros and cons of each and what package you would recommend for someone who has never edited pictures before. Thanks :)

Cheers! Thanks for producing this video so quickly. Nice.
There's a couple of videos I've only just stumbled across which you may be able, to update, at some point. The first:
Ivan Weiss colour grading for dramatic effect.
I thought, to be a real eye opener.
The other video is: Easily retouch skin like a professional. Affinity Revolution.
I don't have the above software, but hope you may come up with something similar using lightroom, capture one, or whatever.

    Thanks, Gareth,
I'm part Dutch, so I only really know be direct.
You're looking good, fella. There's less of you and you look healthier.
    Keep it up.
These TTs of yours are excellent. Really really good.
As a suggestion, if it's not already done, howabout...
Grouping all the LR sessions like you've done with Capture One?
As for what to cover next, what about how you'd suggest for a group edit, whether headshots or a day in the City or the sticks?
Getting look and feel, then saving that and applying it to a common set of images.
For example, a style like Franck Bohbot’s

Thanks so much Jeremy, I'm feeling great as well so thanks for noticing :-)
Some really great ideas actually and I'll be sure to get them in the plan. Thanks for watching

Hi Gareth, just stared following your cracking tutorials. The images you process, are they shot in RAW of JPG?

Hi, thanks so much. Generally speaking I try to shoot in RAW as much as possible so most of these are RAW photos but occasionally, either because it's a new camera and Lightroom doesn't have the RAW codec yet or because I'm re-editing an old photo, it will be a JPEG but I'll generally say if it's a JPEG that I'm editing 🙂

Great video but ditch the “Fro knows Photo” impersonations
