Killer: okay, there have been no witnesses, nobody can see where I’m hiding, I should just lay low until I can slip away. Ooh, or I can try and murder some random woman who is posing almost no threat to me in front of hundreds of people! I swear I’m a genius!
I think the plan was to take her as a hostage in order to make a getaway, maybe he figured that he could be untouchable if he had someone who was associated with the police as a bargaining chip. He knew that he had to distract any law enforcement that might’ve been in the area so he had to divert their attention briefly in order to find a place to hide since like Monk said he knew he wouldn’t be able to get out in time; hence why he killed his girlfriend. In the end he was basically like a bear trying to escape the hunt by climbing a tree but only to end up trapping himself in the process.
Yeah, nothing about this made any sense. How did he kill his girlfriend, made it BACK to the Ferris wheel and get up into one of the carriages (that was obviously higher then the one Sherona was in) all without being noticed
@@akmi1931 “Parkour!” - Michael from The Office Also he knew that the police were closing in on him and his girlfriend so he probably decided to kill her in order to not only distract them briefly but also to remove the risk of her connecting him to the crime since she’s an accomplice. He was under pressure from the get go so you can’t exactly expect for him to come up with a solid plan on the fly.
What exactly was the point of the guy going after Sharona? Just that he's the bad guy and must therefore attempt to do a bad thing, no matter whether it benefits him zero?
It's been a long time since I've seen the episode, but if he knew she was an associate of the police, he might have been trying to take her hostage so he could make a getaway.
@@Fairfieldfencer well if he wanted to do that why'd he give up. He was literally right there he could have just grabbed her and taken her hostage. Very clear his intent was killing her for no reason
@@Fairfieldfencer he was also stuck somewhere he couldn't just get away with or without Sharona as a hostage or without the police getting the ferris wheel in operation to catch him, so he might as well just give himself up in that case.
I love how the people working at the Carnival just let Monk operate the Ferris Wheel just because someone was murdered. Like there had to have been at least one more person somewhere that knew how to operate that thing...
1 of 3 episodes I can remember where the person who appears to be coming to help someone in trouble actually kills them. Here in season 1 and twice in season 2. All 3 times killed with a knife.
I like Monk, but the earlier seasons often didnt make sense. Monk had nothing on him but circumstantial evidence, all he had to do was nothing, the girlfriend was dead, so she couldnt testify.
Monk had a lot of fears, but if one of his friends were in danger he always over came them.
He was probably more scared of losing his friends than anything else
@@G.H.M. Good point

One of the absolute dumbest places to hide.
So everybody would think. So it's actually pretty smart.
Someone hasn't seen "Smiley Face"...

It would be really funny if Monk was familiar with other Ferris Wheel models.😉😂

@@satrok7490 Because he dropped his knife and had six armed cops ready to shoot him. If he tried anything, he'd be shot on the spot.

Getting Rocky vibes from the “Adrian” cries.
