In the midst of her pain at that time, she had a lot of strength! Praise God!

I can’t imagine what a truly difficult situation Amy was in. She and Gary literally make beautiful music together. I’m so thrilled they have remained friends.

Thank you so much for posting this! I have been a big fan of Amy's since the 1980's. I remember this episode very well, as it brings back such fond memories! I used to have this episode recorded on VHS, but recently lost it. Would really love to be able to see it again. Do you have the entire episode? Especially would love to see the complete interview with Amy from this show.

Joan Ronson I have been an Amy Grant fan since I was 16, I’m now 55 ,, I think it’s obvious here that there were problems evident in the marriage as seen by the body language of them both. I saw them in concert twice here in New Zealand, and was deeply saddened when they divorced. Not my place to judge them though, but I’m genuinely sorry things went wrong for them. 😪

I have been a fan of Amy's since I was 13..I'm 45 now. I remember in multiple interviews that Amy did a few years ago, I began to get a better picture of just how unhappy she was and had been for much of her marriage. When I did the math, it was 20 years-ish of her being very unhappy. This made me deeply sad for both of them. I've been married 25 years now and it's incredibly hard work and I can see how tempting it is to walk out. Both of us have nearly done it.
It does seem that Vince/Amy and Gary and his wife are happier now. I remember being 27-28 when they divorced and I kind of judged her harshly. I think many of us who were fans of hers did. We "knew" her with Gary and to upend that was a shock. But now that I'm older and wiser, I can sympathize much more with her. Life does that to us.... She said in an interview that she and Gary decided to have a bunch of kids to see if that would change things, but it didn't. She's such a treasure of a human and someone I've admired much of my life. I just love her music and it never gets old.
She's 60...aw, life goes by so fast.

Forgive the looks analysis but, in 1982 when they got together; they both were 5s on looks. This video, she is a 10 and he is still a 5. She divorced him and now she is with another 5. If you listen back, Gary is way more talented musically than Amy or Vince. Funny how things work out.

Vince is a handsome guy. Gary was more charm than looks. I prefer Gary's voice to Vince's, though Vince might be the better guitarist. Amy Grant was always beautiful and I think she and Gary have equal vocal talent, though I think Gary might be a better guitarist than her.
