I’ve found that watching a routine that I really enjoy and then trying to do the edits and mixing of that routine myself really helps me to get to know my gear and pushes me to learn new “tricks” that other djs, much better than myself, can do. Yes, it’s a copy or I’m emulating that dj. However, I’m not using the routine for comps or to earn money but to give me existing routines that will help me learn a new skill or piece of software. Also, this helps me to think about how the dj may have thought about the progression of his/her routine. I think as long as you give the rightful dj his/her recognition, “copying” a dj, not for monetary gain is a fun way to learn skills you may not already possess. And your bad ass Angelo. Thanks for all of your videos!
