Very nice video, lovely way of presenting the material. I would have liked to see a table of the 5 or six uses of each perhaps at the end of the video, it will make it easier to learn after the fact. Thanks
ACKKK THANK YOU SO MUCH!! This helped me alot for our upcoming test in Spanish i really like the way you explained ser and estar it's so easy to understand!
Thank you for this. I'm teaching my own self Spanish by consuming any information, however, and where ever I can. I'm utilizing Duolingo, Mc Graw Hill easy Spanish high frequency grammer step-by-step book, Steven King paperbacks in Spanish, youtube videos as well as, but not limited to, summarizing every single chapter in the El Libro de Mormon. I'm just doing what I feel is right and hoping studying four to six hours a day, for three months, won't be for naught. I do appreciate your help, so much so that I took notes.
god you're amazing it took me one video to wrap this up when i spent my full night trying a video after another to understand thank you , you're a bless
Thank you! I’m trying to learn Spanish using a service, and I felt like they slowly introduce examples of each, but not all the uses at once. I feel like this is something I need to practice everyday until it’s second nature.
In general terms Ser = permanente/permanent y Estar = temporalmente/temporary. There are few exceptions to this rule. I am English (forever) and I am happy (temporarily) of being English. Soy Inglés (permanently) y estoy feliz (temporary) de serlo. You could also express that you are permanently happy of being English: Soy Inglés y soy feliz siéndolo.
Thanks for the video - really helpful. One thing that continually defeats my understanding though - the word Ser is never used! Unless I have missed its usage - it makes no sense to me! Where does Ser come in please?
That was a wonderful video! I now finally understand the difference I think! I am setting sail for Sudamerica en tres mẽses, por dos años entonces estoy muy nervioso pero muy emocionades. My dream is to learn spanish and the last two months on Dualingo have been frustrating to say the least!
for some reason I find ser vs.estar to be the most difficult when talking in past tense (probably bc I also have to differentiate between preterite and imperfect at the same time). I would LOVE if you made a video of that with both past tenses. my spanish is a bit advanced, but that's the one thing I still second guess
Time in Spanish is usually told in plural form e.g ''Son las cuatros de la tarde'' or ''son las diez de la mañana'' and 'son' appropriately with plural forms. The exception to this time rule is 1o'clock."Es la una" I AM a spanish Learner myself though but I hope this helps.
Because it's like saying, "It's 9 hours and a half" for 9:30. It helps to conceptualize it as the amount of hours. ¿Que hora es?/Which hour is it? Es la una/It's the one hour. ¿Qué horas son?/Which hours are they? Son las dos/They are the two hours, etc. How many eggs in the basket of time? Does this make sense?
Thanks for the video, great job! One question that I have is: why do we say “tu eres un hombre” for “you are a man”? I feel that that is more of a permanent description and should be used with the verb “ser”?? I am learning Spanish and don’t know a lot yet.. thanks for your help!! 😊
Excelente! Me encantó, pero no usaría "pissed" para decir "enojada." Es jerga y suena un poco grosero. No combina mucho con el estilo profesional del resto del video. Queda más suave decir, "angry," o "mad."
Spanish is a bueatiful language but so tricky. Why do you pronounce está enojada and está enferma (á e) differently. está enojada you separate the 2 vowels (á e). está enferma you run the vowels together (á e).
I dont know why but I love your style of teaching. It flows effortlessly. Your videos are also edited very well
Everything is clear watching the video.. soon I do the test I'm confused, buffled and making mistakes.. 😂
Bueno suerte . It takes Practice don’t give up. I been learning Spanish for over a decade never give up

Se usa el pronombre vosotros en Latinoamérica?
No se usa :) solo en España.
y en Guinea Ecuatorial
Thank you so much
Oh thanks bcs I am confused in this chapter ❤❤❤❤❤❤
😮
The book I used to study at first waited until the last chapter to talk about the informal, I forgot about eres lol
wow a great lesson. Do you teach online?
why is there an exception for widows and such?
Very useful
That was a good video.
Pregunta! Why do we use "son" when telling time? In your example, you said "it is 6 pm". Why would we use the "they" conjugation for that?
Time in Spanish is usually told in plural form e.g ''Son las cuatros de la tarde'' or ''son las diez de la mañana'' and 'son' appropriately with plural forms.
The exception to this time rule is 1o'clock."Es la una"

Es la una/It's the one hour. ¿Qué horas son?/Which hours are they? Son las dos/They are the two hours, etc. How many eggs in the basket of time? Does this make sense?
It's the same as in French. You tell the time by counting the hours from the beginning of the day. Hence plural.
@@amens_diary. aunque suene raro tambien decimos "son las una", pero no les recomiendo decirlo porque gramaticalmente es incorrecto.
@@Cuandoloskibilotoile Ah en realmente? Ahora yo sabe. Gracias por esto.
3:59 Andrea es un 3:59 a persona afortunada
Why is it 'eres casado o soltero?' using ser to ask the question but the answer comes as 'estoy casado' using estar? Tia
También se puede responder "soy casado" "soy soltero" quizá porque es tanto una situación temporal como permanente
Is your name Andrea? 😊

Fuck ! and i thought Spanish was hard... It is fuckin' impossible 😢😅
I think it's very close to french

Me gustó el video pero podian haber dicho. Estoy enojada en vez de " I am pissed".
Good video. But you were just a little bit too fast with your examples and speaking.
Excelente! Me encantó, pero no usaría "pissed" para decir "enojada." Es jerga y suena un poco grosero. No combina mucho con el estilo profesional del resto del video. Queda más suave decir, "angry," o "mad."
Yes, and in the U.K. 'pissed' means 'borracho/a' in Spanish. 'Pissed off' does translate as 'enojado/a' but , as you say, it's slang.
Spanish is a bueatiful language but so tricky.
Why do you pronounce está enojada and está enferma (á e) differently.
está enojada you separate the 2 vowels (á e).
está enferma you run the vowels together (á e).
Oh!... you're single huh? 😉
