    Sorry if this was a bit long winded. For just a complete sound, skip to 16:20 where i add some effects and filters so you can get a taste of it.

      This is really helpful to hear how it sounds ....... I have the quantum and will downsize to this because I like the stereo sound much better and more voices

    The more I know about this synth, the less expensive it seems to be. Amazing, thanks for this!

    Subscribed. Thanks for the vid! The resonator is the feature I am most excited about.

    Mine arrived yesterday. Such an awesome sounding machine with so many possibilities. Looking forward to more of your videos.

      Congrats! I won't let go of mine. So much synth power at your fingertips and sounds amazing. Can't wait to really dig in and start jamming.

    The Iridium screen looks beautiful, seen with your new camera. I can read the small print in the menus now.

    Enjoying your videos. I have a Quantum, and am still learning it.

    Hey I really noticed the picture improvements- great job! The only thing I think could be improved now is a bit louder on the synth sound and a bit softer on the voice. Great explanations of the Iridium.

      Yes, I ordered from a German retailer the day it came into the stores. There was very limited stock on the first batch and I was lucky because I didn't hesitate. Stock was green and I ordered as fast as possible :)

      I ordered from Anderton’s in the Uk on the first day but hesitated for a few hours. I got in on the second batch 3 weeks later.

      Ordered today Guitar Center online for US. Guy said expecting 7/25 maybe earlier. Depending how much GC gets from next natch and where i will be in line of preorders.
      Got some discount though. Now we talk about real economy downturn. This time Guitar Center did not have "usual" 15% for holidays and most times 18% when you call em and talk nice :) But I think at some point GC, TH, AN, SW will be happy if we buy anything for any money at all LOL

    Thanks for doing the video. This is the part of the Iridium that I find most interesting. So you can do physical modelling with it if you use more of a noise sample or maybe some kind of single cycle waveform? I was thinking it was more of a pure physical modelling oscillator but perhaps it's more of a sample effect? But when you load a usual sampler it kind of becomes more of a sample with physical modelling effects or some kind of granular type thing?

      You don't need a sample, it has an exciter you can use. I made a string patch yesterday using just the resonator and onboard fx.

    • @cellrok
      @cellrok  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you're correct. I noticed that (almost) myself when I tried to swap the sample and it had zero effect. Was wondering why. Thanks for clearing that up :) love the resonator!

      @@cellrok thanks for posting this because now I want to try using a sample as an exciter.

    Thanks for the Videos Cellrok, they are very informative. One question, it seems like your device doesn’t have the yellow light leak at the bottom of the screen. Is this correct? Or can you see the yellow ribbon when the machine is on?

    • @cellrok
      @cellrok  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, there is a light visible at a steep angle. I've heard these cuts are necessary due to the build process. Not a problem for me though.

      @@cellrok Thanks for getting back to me, yes its not a dealbreaker for me either. At first I thought it was a very large gap but I see its just glass and magnification of whats below.

    can you use it with really long samples like e.g. minutes long and not make it restart on every new key press?

    • @cellrok
      @cellrok  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think so, regarding restarts, but i can test if there is a upper limit. It will play any sound poliphonically and it is duo-timbral. In theory you could avoid retrigg when you split the keyboard into zones and only have the sample on a specific note and/or velocity. The rest could be used to play the other timbre (patch) on top of the playing audio. You can have deep control over where the samples are played and how many.
      EDIT: i will be able to test this in a few days. I am currently getting a new desk for my music gear so the synth is not connected right now.

    “Resonator” is a poor title since it is actually doing modal synthesis. When I think of a resonator proper I think of combs.
    While a BPF in modal synthesis depends on resonance… I still think the unintended confusion with a normal resonator is misleading.

    Sorry but this is horrible. Physical modeling using narrow band pass filters is complex and the presenter here is just going through presets and twisting knobs
