Banks did an amazing job. I watched all the R&D videos that proves it performs better than any aftermarket cover and actually improves performance. Now you need to put on a big brake kit!
Dude this was by far one of the coolest videos I’ve seen in a while, I loved the content from Swift’s powder coating, showing the process, and being able to install the diff cover the same day. Keep up the good work!
That’s awesome. I watch Gale’s videos comparing all types of diff cover on the market and why they are not great. I had a feeling they were coming out with this. Now seeing the finish product makes so much sense. 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Now that I’ve actually watched...diff cover came out sick! I agree the ones that stand out too much are ugly, this is subtle and serves a performance purpose. Cool that they let you in the booth at the powder coat spot always interesting to see how stuff gets done behind the scenes.
I'd show that to Eddie. He didn't believe it made a difference. Curious, why didn't you look into getting the rear end re-geared since getting those big tires? would help with power and wouldn't need to drive in tow/haul mode like you mentioned in a recent video
Banks put a ton of time into that product for sure. The R&D videos they had on their channel were actually very interesting and definitely have my curiosity if they end up putting one out for my application (I have an older truck, so, not sure if they would or wouldn't...). Very cool that you were one of the first to get it.
Yes, it's still called an o-ring. It's not the shape as you see it lying flat, yet it's the shape of the cross section of it. Same reason there's an x-ring option on motorcycle chains.
Ryan, what a sharp looking Differential Cover.👍 As usual, I learned some things today from your buddy. Watching the "Powdercoat" process was great. First time seeing and learning about it. Cool!👌 Thanx for another great video. Peace!✌️😎
I watched Gale Banks channel several months ago perform testing on the many different aftermarket diffs out there... and decided I was gonna wait until Gale designs something after seeing firsthand the poor performance of the aftermarket ones. Most of them are for looks only - not performance. I'm definitely getting the Banks diff cover asap - real quality there!!!
Glad to see these covers are making it out! I’ve been doing testing since early June with one and seen nothing but stellar results! As a bonus, they look badass!
I’ve noticed an approximate 15-20f temp reduction in all load cases with my cover compared to the stock cover. That’s on a 1300hp truck driving to and from work, 60mi a day.
@@bradleydavidsankey do you have a thermocouple in the differential oil or are you using a IR gun pointed at the differential cover? What was the temperature before you changed differential covers? Thanks.
Todayi1itall I saw ~220f before the cover change. Now I see ~195-205f in the same drive at 80-85f ambient with tightly set up 3.73 Yukon gears and a truetrac. I am measuring fluid temp with a thermocouple. I did temp testing with the stock cover using the same thermocouple in a similar location.
@@bradleydavidsankey Have you looked at using a synthetic lubricant? Hate to use your truck as a laboratory but not many vehicles have temperature readout of there gear lube. Some of the high-end Mustangs have differential and transmission temperature indication.
I emailed Banks about the Ford diff. covers not being an option at this time. They responded back saying they will announce a ship date at SEMA in November.
Awesome you got one of those diffs Ryno! Thoroughbred Diesel released a video about it just a couple hours ahead of you which gave a pretty good description of the cover.
Wow Banks did an amazing job on this differential cover! I’m happy to finally be able to see it after hearing about it for months. I hope they will make them for the older trucks because i definitely want one once the bank account allows lol. I had the chance to get any other one on the market a while ago but I held off because none of the ones that were out at the time made any sense, like Banks proved in his testing the designs just didn’t do anything any good. Anyways great job Banks!
Would be so cool if they had a pearl pink power coating. I’d do my leaf springs and 4 link on my truck. Be a pain to get the front done. Just did a fresh QA1 install. But my truck isn’t lifted like yours. It’s lowered a little but I use it for autocross P.S Your attitude is contagious and I like that. Glad I found this channel.
Man I DMed you about those door bracket braces months ago from CP addict and you never looked hahaha I lived in the same town as Paul and Chris. Great guys for sure.
It would have been awesome to have the Banks Logo was the same Copper colour. But it looks good regardless. Banks did a whole youtube series on different dif covers its really neat.
Yeah, a quick note: Yeti is NOT "anti-gun". They just stopped doing business with the NRA, who ran a smear campaign against them in retaliation. Yeti is made by outdoor and hunting enthusiasts in TX.
Watched banks video when he explained all the flaws of the diff covers. Go check his channel he made a clear cover to help explain what the fluid does. Definitely want one. Banks stuff is top notch.

Exactly. I'd prefer the bare metal look anyway, would better match my bare axle lol.
TH3C001 still better then stock refers to have the banks cover with the thermal barrier is still better then stock cover.

Doesnt powdercoating it negate the heat exchange that was the point of purchasing it in the first place?
