56 Chevy Shop Chandelier. WE HUNG IT FROM THE ROOF!

- In the shop today we are REALLY making use of all of our new shop space and the tools that came with it when we bought it. I feel like we haven't used the gantry crane to it's full potential- so today we are rectifying that. We've got to get the truck bed back on the frame of this 56 chevy, so we might as well do it in the most precarious way we know how!

Yes! I Like that Old Green 💚 Alot 🎉
Love to the dynamic duo working out together in the shop. I always thought my wife was at her sexiest while helping me push a car. 🙂
I like how you needed a work bench next to your truck on the lift, so just bought a car with the largest hood ever ! Haha two birds stoned at once ! Love it.
for spits and giggles, I scanned "Princess Auto's" website, they have a couple choices of workbenches that could end up on wheels....
I know you hate doing it , but fans love watching you do body work and paint. More please
Always loved the round body trucks. They all look so good Hot Rodded out. Dan is going for Mild Ratted and I love that too.
5:36 - im a big boy 👦, i got the joke ….. its fun to watch you 2 kid around , its super cool 😎 👍🏻💪🏻
I am a fan of your show. I own a 57 Chevy. My Dada is 89 years old and a lifetime basement garage hot rodder. I always discuss your show with him. I told him it was a bit of a surprise that the pumpkin of the rear end of your 56 pickup, had a very limited travel distance towards the floor. His suggestion was to try and find a corvette rear end post 1962. The pumpkin doesn't travel up and down. I said it might be more expensive than a hot rodder would spend?
So Dan . It's a low rider 👍🏻 the cab is a big bubble. They always looked odd . Needs some TOP chopping . That's when they POP with 20s wide rollers 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻😎
The truck is looking awesome as ever. I love it how it's lowered too. Keep up the great work.
LOVE the truck and how its turning out. Would love to see cedar or pine planks in the bed coated with DIAMOND COAT Lacquer or varnish. Would be super cool, still look the part and not cost too much. Dark stain under it or Green stain under the finish would be a nice touch.
Tack in some metal under those fender eyebrows , then pack in the fiberglass bondo. You have that fancy new 8" sander and it's been awhile since DD has done a paint job. Even a one day slam , but it'd be one color. TCP Global has a gallon kit, single stage $210 (US), olive drab or glossy black. Great to see you re-purpose a running eng/trans. Not all of us can afford the full tilt rebuilds. Love the show
I love to see the tri 5 truck come together.
I like the rear stance now. Lowered but not slammed. Reversed steelie with 275's. I wanted to tell Dani, I know you have been hiking and exercising and I can tell through the last couple months of video you have lost some weight. Happy for you to be a bit healthier. Wish I could be but I am just a broken old man. Have fun kids!!
Nice shop you two…. Good move, what the hell GO HAVE FUN. Every guys great dream, a shop with an ECHO….
Im anxious to see you fabricate the front fender connections-
Danielle, this should be your glitter truck!
This truck started out in a lot better shape than many of your projects. You will get it running and you will like it just fine. Remember the Camaro-you had to replace everything but this is not like that. Keep going!!!
Another great episode from the DD Speed Team, thanks guys.
Man, you are the definition of "just get it done!"
The sheet metal repair looks great good job Dan.
Dan, those front leafsprings were designed for a 600lb+- 235 versus a 400lb+- V8 that you want to install. So it will be a little nose up.....
She looks good.
When I used to do Bondo work I would knock the high stuff down with the power sander then I would fin tune everything else with a hand block to make it car show ready. I may have to do it a few times sand block prime sand block primer..
Ready for the Cowboy hat
Dan bring a little paint sample of the truck do the paint store and they have a paint color code gun that they can mix the match that old weathered out paint get a quart event in just base coat no clear coat needed and get a cheap cup gun and spray all those bare metal parts and those cab corners with the just base coat green and it'll matche the rest of the truck and after it's dried then you can take a green 3M pad and scuff it up the match the rest of the old weathered paint...
It's looking good!
Watching that box hang was awesome lol
Please paint the truck it deserves it 😊
That's a cool truck. We don't have many of those down under.
Once you get an engine in if the front is still to high you can flip the rear spring rear shackle mounts over and that will raise the pu 1.5 inches.
Getting closer to a test drive
I really like that truck. Thank you for all of your video's. Love your channel. Both of you.
You don't need to worry about the bed falling from the ceiling! 😂👌
Good look lowered. Rubber bed mounts (not too thick-hockey pucks), will give it the perfect height. Turned out great. Nice work.
Just want to say hi to Daniel and you and I hope you are having a great day. Dan I hope you do a good job on the truck and maybe put a nice paint job on it. God bless keep up the good work and have a blessed evening and night
I dig the stance you’re going for! Can’t wait to see how low the front drops with the drivetrain installed.
Nice truck I wish I was closer. I would’ve liked to have built you wooden bed. We have rough cut fur here that would’ve been amazing.
made my day again ---Thanks Dan and Dani
And. The headlights look great and the crown's over top looking decent
Of the Truck. I've embarrassed myself by speech. Fartusay...!
I'm looking at the truck when you put the box on and thought wider tires and rims on the rear and low and behold dan agreed with me. Set of cragers would look sweet. Or widened steelies would work. Your down the rabbit hole might as well go all in. Dani, we like your looks. You have that girl next door look to you. Way prettier than the make up barbie dolls of the world. Keep on schmooin guys.
The hour goes quickly. Some days more is accomplished than others. Good work.
Dan, raise the bed floor a fee inches. I really enjoy all your videos!
Wow truck is starting to look pretty slammed. Even the intro picture shows that. Danni won't have to step up to get into it. Might have to airbag it to drive it. .
One thing I learned from mixing paints is that they generally dry darker than when you apply them.
My friend you can use ATF for air tool oil also
That truck's really coming along. Most of the original paint should buff out to a decent shine, but weathering the cab corners would look good too.
Hello Dan and Dani. ! Glad to have time/take time to holler at you. "In the words of a great musician. "Still loving Youuuu.. two!...
Dig the truck (a lot) and dug the vid.
Nice Monte Counter. That lowered rear stance is very niiice! I am a Ford guy but dayum that truck looks sweet!
Thanks have a good one
Well. If the small block doesnt drop the front, you could jam a big block in there. A blower would give the front some more weight
Brand new bed with chrome retainer strips, will drive you nuts if you don't paint the whole truck, even just do it over in tractor paint. Hope every other little thing is okay in your world guys, keep up the great work you do together!
Dan, run a pair of side pipe stacks in the stepwells of the box against the cab..🤔😉
After you remove those steps you just spent so much time on...lol
It looks really good with the new stance Dan! That touch up paint looks pretty good too!
3rd warmest January in BC in a very long time.
Three inches less than average rainfall for January in BC.
February hopefully chnages some of that or the summer is going to long and Hot...
Peg Approved would need a 7.3L and some dump tires to be Alberta approved ;)
Maybe if you put some bushings between the bed and the chassis, that might give you the clearance by the differential.
Love seeing progress on the truck. Hoping to make some progress on my 57 truck soon.
She looks pretty good! Truck isn’t bad either! ❤️😎
Many years ago, my (now late)BIL drove his '58 or '59 Chevy pickup up from Seattle to Anchorage on the ALCAN. He only went 50 miles on the ALCAN when he broke one of his front shocks. He broke all the rest in the next 150 miles. So, I'm guessing the shocks are a potential failure point.
Dan, you gotta raise the bed floor up a couple inches so you’ll have pumpkin clearance🤔🥴😖😊👍🏽❤️ other than that the trucks coming out awesome it’s gonna be a pretty cool truck when you’re done❤️🔥🤙🏽🤓
Man I did a bed floor in a 56 Chevy last year and I don’t wanna do another one haha. Built the box after someone completely disassembled it. Fun stuff!
Good for you.
Looking forward to seeing it done! Will be cool for sure.thanks for letting us go along. this will look good trailering the drag car to races. .
Golly, we just love all your stuff! Great vid, great truck, and Dani totally rocks!
Hey Dan&Dannie
Truck is looking great so far.
Take care 😊
Dan you are doing the right thing with the truck that’s how I did mine to the same way all but where the spare tire. Make it look like the other side okay make both fenders the same way ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Mint! Dan. You're going to make this truck a cherry. It's worth it, just look at that body style. So tough, but yet pretty. Thanks for the video
Good idea sir definitely shine juice it that'll make it match a lot better
Shortening the front bumper would look good. That hoist is handy for sure.
Green truck getting sharper everyday good job Daniel
100% you should use pegs music I like the heavy music you play in the background there makes the mix the metal work way more metal
You could bring the bed up a few inches where the back of the cab seems to indicate it should be. That would help clear the rear-end.
I love that monte carlo. I've had so many but never a first gen, and I've always wanted one. What a deal you got on that
GREAT JOB ON THE TRUCK. KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.
As Always you 2 , I’m lovin it . And if I can find a 55-56 truck ima do the same after the 2 dr wagon . Nice work guys
really starting to look even better. I'll keep watching, keep it up.
You still look amazing Dani👍
Must be MacDonalds cause I’m lovin’ it.
You are really taking on the Alberta culture Old pickup for work , Fancy pickup for goin' to town, c'boy hat, c'boy buckle, boots, no horse. You're Albertian now congrats.

Hello Dan and Dani
Cool truck 👍
Build it the way you want it, Danny.
AWESOME!
It looks awesome! She’s begging for a 6.0L LS!!
Hello Dan and Dany I use a quick squirt of kroil in my air tools works good and I've found they last longer 😊
She had me busting laughing when Daniel sad "dumb ways to die" ..😅
About 55 years ago east Glacier park hotel co. garden crew had a 57 PU, it was red same box with a spare, they look sharp
Woot and also Woot!
It all works out in the end, great job
Heyyyy the sander danny lost🫣🤭🫣🤣🤣 another great video you two
Damn that truck is looking pretty great that color green on the back cab corners from the camera view it looks matched just shine up the rest of it you need to start Blended in Nike said put a little shine on it and you'll have your 56 ready truck Steely Wheels would look good on it but if you wanted to look like a hot rod truck throw some slots on it you'll be surprised believe me I'm a truck man and I think you will be too as far as the riding DD Speed Shop on the back bed with wooden sides on it like a cattle truck Staind like the bed and with the writing on the side of the wood DD Speed Shop one full length 1 x 6 one half of one on each side DD Speed Shop then when you ain't you're putting that out you can just take them off you just have your regular hot rod truck with that 305 with that big truck bed it'll burn the tires off of it thumbs up❤😊😮👍🏻👍🏻👏
When TH-camrs move to a new house and new garage their channel seems to lose their charm, but the new garage seems to really fit the channel well, diggin the new content.
New thumbnail graphics are fun! Y’all are doing good work, well Dani is… I guess Dan too. 😂
Truly though I am excited for what you two have been able to accomplish over the last couple years. Proud of you and glad to be a fan
Looks good man I'd run it
KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK 😊😊😊 Love your channel many hours great entertainment 😊
Nice job man
Please paint the old girl it will make it look so much better.
Turbo can it.
Cool looking truck, I like it.
Looking great, you think a smaller back bumper would clean up the rear of the truck? I like it either way.Great video guys.
Looking pretty good, nice work!
Here we go again. Let’s gooooo 👍👍
Yes Sir!!!
