This is why women don’t openly talk about the sad or depressed feelings. Or anxiety for that matter. They don’t want to be labeled as being depressed and just offered antidepressants. Or given anxiety meds or told to find a hobby or reduce stress. Why don’t doctors first consider age and all symptoms to evaluate for perimenopause before dismissing women as depressed? Women suffer for years because this model of “health care” doesn’t recognize and address perimenopause soon enough. We shouldn’t have to suffer for years and figure this out on our own then beg for HRT to increase our quality of life. I’m so thankful for the doctors that are sharing on social media giving women the information they need to advocate for themselves. Thank you 🙏

💯 I always want to share my “horror” story and end up deleting it and just writing something uplifting! 🤗

Everybody absorbs things differently so if you're still having hot flashes, it means your estrogen is too low for you and I would definitely ask your physician to increase the dose!

3:00 😱 I have had this happen several times in the last year and half. I would shoot up outta my sleep with my heart pounding insanely fast, like I was having a heart attack. 🫀As someone who has suffered all her life with anxiety and panic attacks these are even more disturbing 😳. It’s almost as if you’d just had a nightmare but didn’t. 😰

I’m 47 and having irregular periods (recently 3 months without a period that just came back). My estrogen was over 100 and progesterone was very low (less 0.01) in recent BW while I was not having periods. I was prescribed oral progesterone and a small dose of estrogen (patch). However, I’m concerned about being even more estrogen dominant. I don’t have hot flashes. My symptoms are joint pain and hair thinning. Thanks!

I have high cholesterol and didn't when I was younger. Have been doing all of the right things to control it but didn't work. Really feel like it's the onset of menopause causing it. I haven't had a period in this past year (October 24)
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you.

What is an appropriate progesterone dose? I am on 100 mg daily but I feel like I might need 200 mg. My doctor says that dose is only for cyclical application. Is this true?

100 mg is the minimum that is recommended for preventing uterine cancer but most of our patients take 200 mg since it helps with sleep and some patients even take more so it's entirely up to you!

If you still have a uterus and you're taking estrogen, you need to continue on progesterone to prevent uterine cancer!

All women after 45 need HRT but I feel the perimenopause group is more informed than the postmenopause group and getting a doctor to listen is non-existent.
