    Thank you I am understanding it better with your explanation. Please, for regular drugs that is not my time, after verbalising to examiner its not yet my time so i won't give it, will i code it?

      Thank you so much. I have gotten my answer from your documentation. You did not code nor sign medications that were not your time.

      Hi just seen this yes that's right you only code for medications that are due at your time which you are not giving for medications not due at your time you do not need to code or do any documentation. Good luck with your OSCE study and exam

    Thank you so much for your videos. When signing for medication, do we need to indicate the date and signature or only the signature?

    • @HannahAmes24
      @HannahAmes24  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi for hospital charts you just need to sign the "today" column indicates the date so just sign in the today box next to the time of your medication for community charts you must sign, date and time.

    Thank you so much for the lecture.
    Pls, For an antihypertensive medication (Ramipril or Amlodipine) under regular medication, do you administer when there’s no start date and finish date or CODE prescription as incomplete/unclear?
    Also, do we proceed to administer any medication when either of this details are missing; Start Date, Duration and Finish Date?

    • @HannahAmes24
      @HannahAmes24  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Hi you must have a date and start date for the prescription to be valid, you do not need a duration or finish date and in the exam you can still give these medications but I would verbalise that you would check with prescriber how long it is to be given

    Hi Hannah, please I wish to understand something. For Clindamycin for example, Given that the frequency of the medication is tds which means 3 times a day and the first dose was administered at 6:00. I was expecting the next dose to be at 14:00 to make it 8hrly summing it up to 3 times a day. I was thinking the prescription won’t be valid because of the time interval between. This is unlike with paracetamol in which the frequency is qds that’s 4 times a day resulting to 6 hrly. I will consider the prescription for paracetamol valid because the time interval is 6 hourly making it 4 times a day. Please can you explain why Clindamycin is considered valid clearly to me so I can understand properly?

    • @HannahAmes24
      @HannahAmes24  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@bclody6047 hi good question if you look clindamycin up in the BNF it says you can give 150 -300mg up to 6 hrly so they could have 300mg every 6hrs as a maximum dose so it is within the safe dosage, prescription can vary depending on severity of infection, also I needed it to align to the paracetamol time as these two medications are normally given together on the exam

      @@sulochanamadushani2105 hi it would be your patients choice so you would tell them they have regular paracetamol and ask if they want it some patients may still want it to keep on top of the pain if they are clear they do not want it then as it is a regular medication you would need to code it a 7

    Hi Hannah, If there's a prn paracetamol and a regular medicine of aspirin, and the patient is in pain. Could I give them both together?

    • @HannahAmes24
      @HannahAmes24  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@dgap6318 hi you can give them together you need to be aware of the other medicines when giving aspirin as there are a lot that should not be given with aspirin so check the chart for any of these this is great overview on NHS E site www.nhs.uk/medicines/aspirin-for-pain-relief/taking-aspirin-with-other-medicines-and-herbal-supplements/

    Hi Hannah, What if the patient has a prescription for As required paracetamol but the patient’s weight is 45 kg? Of course, I can't give it to the patient and I have to code it but where? Is there a specific time, could there be a timing on the as required prescription? Or should I write/specify the time like if my scenario is 1200? Should I write 1200 then code then sign?

    • @HannahAmes24
