Love the Vee. Once you get the hang of it and get in a good split, it’s magic!

You gotta love races like that. That was some good stuff. Nice and clean. Thanks for the content.

I owned one of the beetles the parts came from. The rear suspension has one pivot point on each side as the axles come out of the transaxle. When you lift or unload the rear the wheels go positive camber. When you load the rear their camber goes Negative. My trick is to throw it into understeer and back off on the throttle let the rear rise, and go positive camber, then when pointed at the exit, nail the throttle which makes the rear go negative camber and bite in. You steer the rear with the throttle.
I saw by your face you figured that out about halfway through. 2nd and 3rd are way too far apart to use, stick to 3-4.
It's fun, but I think you can learn bad habits for other cars.
My transaxle was a 1960, it had a chunk of graphite for a throwout bearing.

Driving without his usual tasteful livery suggests this car isn't the only thing that's a bit rusty!
Using a manual gearbox adds a nice bit of jeopardy, but it's another polished performance!

Didn’t even know the VEE had a second gear 😂

Go on Dave, that was brilliant, thank you. Would you mind doing a video on your main channel about heel toe and how to successfully and efficiently use an H-pattern in iRacing, and specifically cover heel-toe and how you do it? I think this car and the Mustang are the main ones that use H-pattern. Speaking of which, you haven't driven the Mustang yet. Will have to do some research to see when the high SOF Mustang races happen but it's (a version of) the car you drive in real life!

Great race! But why do you say you're not good with the car, but are able to comfortably sit at the front of top split? Are there cars you are genuinely off the pace with on tracks you know?

Pretty much anything with down force 👍

@@davecamyt I think it's only fair we see the W13 at some point then... 😂

Dave is a great driver no doubt but in this car is very forgiving when running in a pack. You can be .5 seconds slower than the car in front of you on pace in clean air and still comfortably stay within the draft.
