    Dear friends, hope you are having a nice weekend. Here is our version of a popular Swiss folk song. Switzerland is the country where we met so it’s always special for us to play there. Have a great week and we wish our friends in Switzerland a happy Swiss National Day!

    Es Burebüebli mahn i nid, das gseht me mir wohl a, juhe! ...

    WOO_HOO!!!!!!! I love that tune and especially the way you two played it!! I had never heard it before, but WOW!!! Lots of love from Gene in Tennessee.🤩

    I sound like a broken record (remember “records?” 78, 45, 331/3 rpm?) but you two imbue tunes with contagious joy that is hard to find. Keep on playing but… please, could you include Sarasota, Florida in one of your next visits to the US? We’re only a couple of miles away from Dick Hyman… but as we wait… keep on playing! Your musicality and creativity are me-of-a-kind. 👏👏👏💐❗️

    Oh gosh, you both are so Swiss! :) Sadly, I didn't celebrate our national day because at this time I was ... in Northern Italy, that in meantime has become my second home. ;) I very much hope - and look forward to it - to meet you both at a concert. Whether in Switzerland or Italy. Auguro a entrambi tutto il meglio per il vostro viaggio!

    Thank you for this lively,crative interpretation of this old Swiss song. We used to sing it as kids, it brings back good memories and future pleasure when hearing it live.

    I have the feeling it’s a four hands playing but only on mind. Your complicity reaches higher level each time I hear you. Best from French Riviera.

    Dear Stephanie and Paolo, you’ve given us another example of how you so successfully incorporate so many different genres of music, in this case folk, and put your own beautiful ‘stamp’ on it! The last part of your arrangement reminded me so much of your arrangement of ‘my Chinatown’ playing with Paolo Tomelleri in 2019. Absolutely lovey! 😊😊

    It's interesting that you are able to combine different piano styles to enliven tunes that might otherwise go unnoticed (at least outside of of Switzerland). The incorporation of jazz, swing and very demanding stride techniques into the performance makes one appreciate virtuosity....a seemingly lost aspect in the modern pop music...which is fine. That allows for greater appreciation for your work...(done in one take?).

    I love the way that this builds from something very tame to your two different jazz styles as well as your showmanship. What is this Swiss folk song and what is it about?

    • @VodooFeed
      @VodooFeed ปีที่แล้ว

      It's about a girl singing that she doesn't like a relationship with a county boy (the literal interpretation of 'Burebüebli' would be farmers boy).

    By the way: I remember Nancy Sinatra singing this folk song at the French speaking Swiss radio in the early sixties. She apparently has been on holidays in the Bernese Oberland at that time (Gstaad or the like) - it was quite funny :)

    Tho! Cos'è questa una riedizione di Albano e Romina? La canzone somiglia molto a quella di Orietta Berti: Babbo non vuole e mamma nemmeno ecc. Comunque, scherzi a parte siete molto bravi. Complimenti!
    Bravi erano, e in parte lo sono ancora, pure Albano e Romina, ma non so se questo può esservi di buon augurio. Però dal punto di vista del successo forse sì. Vi ho scoperti solo stasera, ma siete molto bravi, dunque ora dovrò tornare qui spesso. Complimenti ancora!
