Pretty amazing seeing Michael make it back to the UFC. I used to train with Michael at Xtreme Couture and after a training session in the sauna he talked about the mistakes he made that got him kicked out of the UFC. Explaining how he didnt really know what he was saying, and grew up in some really difficult situations and fighting was his way out. Once he was released he did some soul searching and educated himself on the words he was using and how it makes him look. It was honestly a powerful moment.
I haven't trained with him for 4 years, but it amazing to see the redemption story he has worked so hard for come together.

I think Dana should be a little more lenient on age, there is some great hungry fighters over 30 and sometimes the experience is super valuable rather then youth.

Nah, I don't think so. This sport, like many other sports, is a young man's game. He's looking to build talent. He's not anti-30 year olds, he just needs to see a little more from them to make the investment worthwhile. I think that's the right approach. Can't just sign every 34 year old that has a half-decent performance, or your company is going to go downhill in a hurry.

The fight promotion ‘Unified’ they were at is surely UFC affiliated? It had UFC branding and advertising logos everywhere. Matt is literally a comedian masquerading as an ex UFC champion, absolutely love the guy.
I mean a lot of regional promotions are UFC affiliated, most small promotions want their fighters to get to the UFC. Even if they aren't and they know Dana is coming they will market themselves with the UFC brand like UAE Warriors, to attract fans who might be interested in seeing the new up and comers to UFC might sign.

Mike Imperato is one of our best coaches at xtreme couture Toronto. I love his bjj class. He’s a great guy and a family man. His daughter is always running around the mats hanging out with all the fighters at the gym 😂. Needless to say, everyone at the gym was stoked when mike got the best result you could ask for with all the spotlight on him. He was a +700 underdog or something going into that fight with Ricky. Can’t wait for his fight on contender series august 20th
