Awesome video. We had such a awesome time meeting you guys. Lots of great memories. Hope you take us up on our offer to stay at our place. Happy travels. Ed and Maria
welcome to maine. my grandfather managed all that forest land years ago . He was the VP for Scott Paper and operated the log drives. That land you camped on was used to pile pulpwood all year and towed across the lake with the old steamship Katahdin in the spring.
You got your moose shots! And, you saw the northern lights! They are awesome to see. Every time you see them, they will be different. Even the ones in the distance, like the fingers going up and moving around are cool to see. We live in the Northwest and love it when we get to see them. So, glad you got to experience that. Thanks for the great videos and pictures!
Wow, does this video bring back memories. In the fall 1980 we were members of the American Rescue Dog Association and were flown from Wisconsin to Maine in a Air Force Reserve C130 to search for a lost hunter(a person of importance) near Moosehead Lake. We were housed on Moosehead Lake in donated property by Maine's Fish and Wildlife Dept. It is beautiful country, enjoy your stay.
+Jim JN wow! That sounds exciting! I hope you found ” the person of importance” alive and well 😐 otherwise not so exciting. It definitely is beautiful country! And thick woods!!!!
Hi Guys..that Cloud footage was very cool! At first they looked so low that you can touch them..and then they looked like they were on a wide screen tv 👍 And the music choice was so soothing :) Have a Beautiful Day! -Stone
That’s awesome photographs and overhead drone shots it just pulls you right into it this is on our bucket list to do thanks for taking the time to travel to this area and to let the rest of us know what we have to look forward to stay safe out there!
Love this informative video. I have heard about this area from thru-hiker videos. But, no one has captured it in full beauty. Thank you for sharing y’all’s adventures 😊
+Dan&Bonnie B thanks..... this spot is definitely in our top favorite all time spots! Can you believe they are free!!!! I almost stepped on that little guy.... I think I stalked him for at least a half hour....it actually moves very fast when you are trying to video 😂 I’m loving 🥰 playing with my camera.... thank you
Right on! Our friends are heading to Moosehead Lake in a week! We hope you have a great time. 😀 Be careful if you have to drive at night...the moose are nearly black and hard to see.
+Discovering LockeNest thank you! I used my iPhone X to video the worm 🐛 it does a great job. I was pretty dang happy to photograph the deer 🦌 I love wildlife!
It's Jew'ett Cove, the first syllable gets the emphasis. The other cove I couldn't catch the name from how it was said? Otherwise, well done! I'm from up that way, left as a teen, and used to spend a week or two at the lake every year. Getting old and haven't been back in several years... Have to remedy that.
Nice! I will never forget the sound of the loons at night. This area is way up there on our list of favorites, we can see why you miss it. Thank you for the pronunciation help, we appreciate it. 😀
Oh my gosh, this was an amazing video. I love your videos so much, could watch them all day. The images and music were perfect together. Moose, Yay. They are so fun to see. I saw some when visiting Isle Royale. The midnight paddle....sounds life changing. And the clothesline.....I love hanging my clothes. Another great video. Can't wait till the next one! xo
+Lynda Smith THANK YOU!!! I’m so happy you enjoy them! I’m in love with the great outdoors and pretty much any wildlife😃 the midnight kayak trip was AMAZING!!! I wish it would have translated on video.... thanks for watching! And for your kind words too!
No Moose?! Wow, I bet if you go again you will see one. I hope you got to hear some of the loons on the lake at night. They were magical. Thank you for watching and commenting, Ralph. We appreciate your time. 😀
I saw your Patreon Lens about the critters making a nest in your engine compartment. This is an issue that really scares me. Mice and rats (and whatever else makes a home in your van) can cause serious damage. I've heard it's good to put a light in there at night, also, supposedly mothballs keep them out, as well as peppermint oil. Let me know if you know of any sure-fire method of taking care of the problem. (I will also set traps.) Happy motoring!
Hey so I have watched this video a couple times and I was curious about cell phone signal. I know it was 2 years ago but I am going to take my first solo trip and was curious about phone signal is there any?
We both think we did not have any signal but can't remember for sure. We use Verizon. I think we had to go into a nearby town to make calls. We love this camping area! We hope you have a great time.
Hey! Beautiful video! Thank you for sharing. How is the drive to Cowen Cove? How many miles of gravel road to the campside? ok to pull a RV? I am a solo fulltimer and on my way there now. hoping it's a go :-)
Looks like you’re having a blast in Maine..just a quick question about your Berkey filter. Do you leave water in it while driving? Just wonder if it leaks at all if you did?
Our berkey does not have a water level window so we full it when empty.... Yes, we drive with water in it. No, we have never had it leak😃 never really thought about that
Thanks for writing back...we have one for our van, but haven’t mounted it yet. Was wondering if you got any leakage where the two chambers sit on top of one another...I guess not...that’s good to know!
+dan Buck Nice! I walked all over Greenville while Carrie was uploading a video. Super nice looking town with the best grocery store we have ever been to! I hope your enjoying Livermore Falls. Thank you for watching.
NY&FL Kitchen The DJI Mavic air 2 just got released and they made it even better. More range and more flight time along with even sharper video quality. Adding it to my wish list! Take care and thank you for watching our videos 😀 We are doing a live stream in 2.5 hours if your interested. Take care and have a wonderful day.
@@oneadVANtureatatime oh cool! I have little over 900.00 on. a credit card cash back and am looking at a drone or frig-for my truck for camping. I'll check out the new drone-thanks!
The reason it's beautiful is because the shoreline isn't ringed with vacation homes. Man is so terribly bad about ruining the very places he loves. Nice to see a few undeveloped areas like this still remain.
In your comment you say moose head lake is the largest lake easy of The Mississippi but that is incorrect, lake Okeechobee is bigger, some of the Great Lakes are east of the Mississippi

Did you happen to be on Presque Isle last Saturday?

Did both coves you stayed at have cell service?

We agree Tom. If that area was not State Reserve Land it would be gone to the public by now.

Warning from a former Mainiac. Don't go during black fly, deer fly and moosefly, mosquito season...you will be eaten alive out there...
