Great video, loved the opening sequence, almost total silence except for the occasional tweeting of a few birds, then followed by an interesting shunting session. Cheers Greg
Good morning Lewis, what a beautiful start, that was a well planned fascinating to watch bit of shunting, the scenery, the sounds, see the train being assembled was nothing short of brilliant. Thanks for taking the time and trouble to show us. Take care Eddy xx
Absolutely bloomin brilliant.... Thank you for taking the time into doing yet another fine video to show us all.... The effort you put into doing the scenery is magnificent... And the sound effects are brilliant, especially at the beginning...The wildlife I mean, birds singing as well as a pheasant I can hear.. Thank you so much for sharing and showing your fantastic layout. With the most kindest regards.
¡Hola buenas tardes Lewis! As ever, a great, well produced, video. Sound editing up to your usual high standards. The scene very well directed and, above all, great railway modelling fun! Stay safe and well. Un saludo. Gary
Hi Lewis. A beautiful little loco and well modelled by Hornby. I have one but a ivate class 2 in LMS which yours is based on they called them Micky mouse back in the day. Yet another great video Lewis. thank you.
As usual, another absolutely superior running session. GETs should have different awards for differing types of TH-camr IMO. Quick suggestion; would you consider uploading 2 of the same session, but with one of them having just the lightest of narration?
Once again, a very delightful video playing out on YDMR. Im a bit concerned about the absence of the shunter assistant. He on sick leave?😂 I havent seen anyone performing those duties. No one to do handsignalling during these operations. Otherwise a great delivery of railaction😀
Locomotives were built to do work! I enjoy your shunting videos, Lewis! Must say I have no idea of what a Mickey Mouse Disney goof around is. Not a railway term that is familiar to me.
It's a lovely looking loco - one of the prettiest, IMO - and it fits perfectly into your layout. Nice to see some shunting action. Having watched some reviews of the new Hornby version, I did some research and found out it was an Ivatt 2MT that hauled the last train from Brecon station in 1962. Being a "South Wales exile", I decided I wanted one, but was not willing to pay the price for a new Hornby. So I found a barely used, green livered, Swindon built Bachmann example for £65. The detail is not as good as the new Hornby version's, but it passes the "3 foot test". Not sure why, but Ivatt's 2MT looks so much prettier than his 4MT IMO.
Thanks Stephen, appreciate it. Good choice, I think Bachmann remade the Ivatt 2MT with a revised chassis which is really good. I’ve got the tank version and it’s great!
You need to sort that bufferstop out, mate. It's sticking up off the rails, and needs to be pushed back into place. Nice to see a new engine, but where's the rest of the railway? Also, an engine doesn't just suddenly stop dead. You need to gradually slow the engine right down to a crawl before stopping her gently and safely. Remember to have the engine go slowly over points. Nice to meet your new recruit, keep her in gleaming condition, although in real BR Days, she wasn't kept clean so well.
Hey Lewis, I have just asked in another video but as I am here also I will ask again if I may. What make/brand and size of ballast do you use? I have just had a ballasting nightmare and had to rip it all up. Great running session.
@@MouldyRaspberry N scale ballast wow it looks amazing and I would never of guessed it was N scale. Will try to get some for a look. Thank you for replying and the info.
Very typical move for such an engine, everything here is stop on from an operational point of view ! Such a low-end power engine was certainly a blessing for all cabotage trains like the one you show us here, going from stations to stations on a certain stretch of line, picking and delivering wagons as needed, and assuming the shunting moves. You just need to turn your video in black and white, add a jolly band music and an emphatic comment delivered with the right tone to get something perfectly identical as lots of BTF documentaries of the 1950s.
If you can buy 92199 hauling the Hogwarts Express coaches, 75019 piloting 92085 hauling the Pines Express coaches, Tintagel No. 73084 piloting Bideford No. 34019 hauling the Torbay Express coaches, 92178 hauling the Cambrian Coast Express coaches, 53807 hauling the Cornish Riviera Express coaches, 53806 hauling the North Wales Coast Express coaches, 75009 and 53810 hauling the Flying Scotsman Express coaches, Merlin No. 73080 piloting Ottery St Mary No. 34045 hauling The Broadsman coaches, 92000 hauling the The East Anglian Express coaches, and 75033 and Westward Ho No. 34036 hauling The Wildlife Foundation Express coaches, then you'll be able to recreate the good Express days of double heading to extend it to a long main line.
It gives a real sense of a railway at work rather than someone just playing trains. Marvellous.
Thanks!
Fantastic. So realistic. It is as though you are there. Well done.
Thanks!
Nice bit of manoeuvring Lewis. Like the brief birds eye view over the points. Cheers
Thanks Davie 👍🏻
Thanks for showing the end of the goods siding by the signal box in use like I was asking about! Cheers!
Glad you liked it!
Again excellent footage of interesting shunting action Lewis. Love this 2MT. Thanks for sharing & happy model railroading.
Greetings, Filip
Thanks Filip!
Great video, loved the opening sequence, almost total silence except for the occasional tweeting of a few birds, then followed by an interesting shunting session. Cheers Greg
Thanks Greg 👍🏻
What a fantastically detailed layout and the 2mt is well detailed I also like the way you have weathered the loco 👍
Thanks Andrew 👍🏻
Proper shunting and train formation - very enjoyable! Thanks for posting.
Thanks!
A wonderfully evocative sound track, as always. Escape to more gentle days. Thank you!

I like the driver leaning out of the cab and those figures on the platform 👍

Thanks Michael!
Yes, totally agree!

A very busy Ivatt today. Nice vid Mr Mouldy.😊
Thanks John 👍🏻
Very nice! Really enjoyed that.
The sounds matched up well and those wagons look great!
Thanks Matt!
Very smooth, very smart. Lovely engine, should be at that price.
Cheers and keep up the great work - Alex.
Thanks Alex!
Brilliant mate
Thanks 👍🏻
@@MouldyRaspberry thank you for sharing your work mate
A very nice shunting video 😊but I do feel sorry for poor old Buckdale , they never get anything 😢
Thanks 😀 Yes Buckdale needs some love…
Excellent video as usual
Thanks Barry

Quick suggestion; would you consider uploading 2 of the same session, but with one of them having just the lightest of narration?
Thanks! Yes that’s a good idea, a bit like the old archive footage has a bit of narration describing the location or train.
Once again, a very delightful video playing out on YDMR. Im a bit concerned about the absence of the shunter assistant. He on sick leave?😂 I havent seen anyone performing those duties. No one to do handsignalling during these operations. Otherwise a great delivery of railaction😀

used to watch the 'real one' as a wee boy at 64G, Hawick Shed
I’d have loved to have seen that!

Just wandering the different coloured station name signs that are red is it different colours for parts of british railways cheers dan 😀
Yeah I think you’re right Dan, London Midland region of British Railways was red.
Super! 👍
Niesamowite manewry. Piękne zestawienie oraz obloty składu.

True 🤣

Thanks! I use Geoscenics N scale ballast. I tend to randomly mix a few colours together, mainly a brown, beige and grey.
@@MouldyRaspberry N scale ballast wow it looks amazing and I would never of guessed it was N scale. Will try to get some for a look. Thank you for replying and the info.
Do you edit in some authentic sounds or are these made by the model locomotive only?
No I edit these in 👍🏻
