    Typically don't watch FPO but because of the MPO rainout had time to kill. First time hearing this commentary team. Thought they were great. (First impression : think they might be my 2nd favourite commentary team?) I will probably end up watching the rest of the coverage for that. Also seeing the picture quality it reminded me how much i miss the GK Pro guys covering MPO.

    loved this coverage. i enjoyed the commentators and great camera work. wow kristin was on fire in this one! i agree with some other commenters that some fpo practice rounds would help with growth/engagement, and getting to know player personalities better would be really cool as a fan.

    As 63yo newbie to disc golf, I really enjoy your commentary. I would enjoy some more rule explanations occasionally sprinkled in during the broadcast. IE: Kristins 2nd shot on 9, she’s standing 3 feet from her disc on the OB line. I was at this years Discraft's Great Lakes Open watching the FPO and all the players were thanking the gallery for supporting disc golf. With all the pros making a real effort to increase the fan base, this might be helpful to those of us still learning.

    • @angieb8941
      @angieb8941 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      You are allowed to take one meter of relief from the OB line. You will often see players place their heel on the inner edge of the line and then place their other foot heel to toe and then again heel to toe as a way to “walk off” the meter. Since some people have smaller feet you might see them take a little bit more. They then place their mini marker on their proposed lie and make sure at least one other person on the card agrees.
      To make it just a bit more complicated, when marking the meter relief, if the shot was OB, the player make take their lie on an arc formed by that one meter. If it was not OB, which is the case here, the player has to mark their lie perpendicular to the OB line.
      Another important thing to know about OB is that you are allowed to take relief farther from the OB line on the line of play. I don’t know if there is a max distance or not. It is important to remember this rule while playing because backing away from the basket may give you a clearer shot to the basket.

    • @mikejones8866
      @mikejones8866 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@angieb8941 I don't believe there is a max limit to how far back you can go from the OB line as long as it's in line with the "line of play" to the basket.

    The ladies should get together and start doing a practice round. They play different tees so it would be something a lil different

    • @stitch438
      @stitch438 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Why? How about the women start their own production company first, then they can do what they want. There is huge disparity in the skill level between the men and women today, many of the women's rounds are hard to watch, practice rounds would be even worse. The number of views clearly show that more people want to watch men's rounds than women's rounds; why should more women's content be made? Would you be watching this right now if there were men's content out there?

    • @angieb8941
      @angieb8941 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@stitch438 I think the poster may have been suggesting that the women do what Ezra and Brodie do. I wish they would. I would watch it. You are correct that MPO gets a lot more viewers. I believe that FPO would get more viewers if the layout was better designed for FPO. USWDGC was very popular because it resulted in several players competing for the win. We want to see battles! We want to see birdies! Even an eagle here and there. Pars are only exciting if it required multiple types of shots. Hole 7 and 9 are SUPER boring.

    • @NickCarroll
      @NickCarroll 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@angieb8941 This is correct. And while a lot of ladies do practice from their tees, even if they are playing alongside the men, it would be nice to see a couple FPO players with their own YT channels do something similar to Brodie and Ezra. A lot of us like watching these practice rounds before watching the events. I would definitely watch FPO practice rounds.

  • @angieb8941
    @angieb8941 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I hope they change holes 7 and 9 for future tournaments. There are some other holes that are similar in that birdie is too hard and par is too easy but 7 and 9 are the worst.

    I think the FPO coverage could benefit from some more color commentary or relief with some lighthearted remarks here and there. I really enjoy listening to paul, Nate, and Jeremy from jomezpro speak about the players and the game with a little added humor in there. I had to mute this round and listen to a podcast instead. I feel like the commentating in disc golf needs help. Its fun and they do a good job, not hating. But I feel they are wrong more often than not about what the disc will do. "oh no that a bad shot.. and then it lands right next to basket."

    • @shanebentley5630
      @shanebentley5630 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've definitely thought the same for almost all commentary for disc golf; but between perspective issues and that every disc flies differently, it's gotta be so rough to be highly accurate.

    • @stitch438
      @stitch438 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@shanebentley5630 It's because active player's are typically the one's commentating, they have no skill or experience in it and there is no competition for the roles. The big problem in disc golf right now is everyone has a side hustle, instead of being laser focused on practicing/playing, many player's are trying to add more roles to make more money. Mcbeth and pierce are great examples of that, as their brands have grown so have their responsibilities outside of competing and their play is suffering as a result. You never see this occurring in the pga, mlb, nba, or nfl; the player's play and that's it.

    I don’t see Paige winning another championship, she’s a old school player in a new school world. I see the same for Paul. I don’t want to say washed up but definitely not as dominant especially for Paige.

    • @broheme8922
      @broheme8922 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Her biggest issue is control. She has way too many grip lock and early release drives. But with her distance and putting, she'll be a threat to win the big ones for years to come. Other than Tattar, I don't think there is anyone in the world you could say it is definitely better.
