Just found this and I'm on hole 1 and it's better then every course on tour already in course and the discussion. Thank you GK. Why can't tour pick better course like this
Played a collegiate tournament here last year-amazing course, but doesn’t have necessary facilities to run a pro tour event. Pretty bad cell service, middle of nowhere, small parking lot, not a lot of hotels to my knowledge. If they can figure that out, it could be pro tour or even a major course
Watching from Australia on vacation & it's 4:45 pm. I thought I was clicking to watch the skins match & it took me until the putts to realize it's not 🤣y'all are SO quick!!! Posting this at 1-2am local time is OUTSTANDING! GO AB!!!!!!
Thank you for filming this (and for skins/getting the pros out here!)! Awesome to see this amazing local course get some additional coverage and fun event for my son and I to be a part of.
super dope seeing these guys out there shredding after i just got done embarrassing myself on this track! thanks, GK, OTB, Discraft, and of course, Steve! can't wait to get back out there next year!
Luke says the field isn’t too deep beyond this card, then mentions that he and Jake are also playing. I’m thinking Paul must not be playing, and then Paul talks about what he threw that day on the hole. Paul, I believe in you, even if Luke doesn’t! 😂😂😂
Paul Oman played in the MA40 division. Luke mentions that in the Final Round commentary. I'm just posting here in case you hadn't a chance to watch it yet. 🙂
My opinion on the whole step putt debate: Just make the circle 1 line at 45'. Solves almost all problems. If you're just outside circles edge and want to step putt up to 42', so be it.I feel it would help with course design and rule delineation, plus make for more exciting putts. Standard rules of not touching the ground past your plane would be all that's necessary for everything outside the circle.
Doesn't get old seeing all the trees I cut off the fairway to keep this course open. On 7, they threw right into the corner that 3trees got blown over in a winter storm last year..
I feel like step and jump putts are a great skill to incorporate into your game. By disallowing or making it more complex bc you're forced to land behind the disc, more foot faults are very likely to occur resulting in more player contention and aggravation on every card. Stupid rule change IMO...it's not like step/jump putters have a tremendous advantage over stationary putters (who are also welcomed to do)
@@joemam12 If the expectation for a run up is to stay in a zone behind the mini the same can be said for any shot. Practicing a step putt to land in a zone is not beyond a player's skill. One issue with step putts is that it is tricky to determine if someone is releasing the disc in time making it one of those rules that are "mushy" and depend on the card calling it. At least a mini fault is obvious.
What if disc golf disc throwing was an Olympic event? I think it would be better than discus because discus doesn’t have a sport associated with it that I think needs growing. It could also show how you don’t necessarily need to be the biggest muscly person to do well at generating power. The disc could be a standardized 175 gram star destroyer, each gets like 5 throws, no rollers. What do you guys think?
Discus literally goes back to the ancient Greek games and is much easier to control for the sake of the Olympic grounds. A disc golf distance competition would need an entirely different venue and would be harder to schedule (among the other 100 reasons this ain't happening). Might as well turn putting league into an Olympic event, lol. Actual disc golf as an Olympic sport makes more sense but is still such a long shot until we get more people involved.
@@seymourglass26 Hmm I maybe see what you're saying about the venu size thing, but I'm sure there is a solution. But these are modern times, and Disc Golf needs to be more popular now more than ever, (gets families and friends outside to courses and see the beauty of Earth, community, technique, and exercise) and I still think a Disc Golf event should replace a Discus event. I would be interested to hear your list of "100 other reasons this ain't happening".
@@Balanceiskey-nd6el Because I value your time, I'll give 5 reasons why disc golf won't be in the Olympics soon and why that's ok. 1. Not enough global involvement yet. It's mostly the US and select parts of Europe. 2. Fan safety. Even the pro tour hasn't figured out how to keep fans out of the way. 3. Traditional track and field as well as traditional golf make an overlap and would see it as a threat. 4. The PDGA and Pro Tour would have to accommodate the a summer Olympic schedule that comes right in the middle of the season. If we're trying to make European stops a thing (and pros seem to love those courses), it might be too much. 5. The Olympics Committee is highly conservative and when they bring in "new" sports, often it's an experiment and not to the benefit of the sport itself. Look how they botched breaking most recently. All people remember is a single "controversial" dancer, and the Olympics had cancelled the 2028 appearance before the first bboy or bgirl hit the floor in 2024. They used breaking and then dropped it like a dirty napkin afterward. I think we'll be just fine without them, to be honest.
@@seymourglass26 Thank you for your responses, now I'm waiting for 95 more reasons xD just kidding. But I could talk about and counter each of those arguments. I’m very much in favor of the potential rule change on the step putt. Would also like to see them change the rule on mini markers to where your mini has to be inside the circle your disc came to rest. No cheating forward a foot by using a mini.
@@garnerthecubeit actually might be. But the only way to tell is a screen record and to slow down. But we can’t do that live. So unless players call it….its a good putt.
he wears AB shirts all the time, very good friends. what's more confusing to me is, who is Austin sponsored by? I thought for sure Discraft? but I find some DGA stuff when googling? But he's not on either team AND he's putting with Rainmakers? can someone fill me in?
The idea to change C2 putting rules is ridiculous IMO..take a generally boring sport to watch and make it less exciting from less C2 makes. Gonna be a lot of foot faults and aggravation in rounds if players dedicated to step/jump putts can't/don't change their putting

What’s the red disk AB threw on 7?
If they do get rid of the step putt, does that also get rid of the jump putt? I’m fine if it changed but it would so hard to police
Those putts would seem less dirty if the rules stated that a plant foot has to land in the box zone behind the mini as opposed to going over it.
