A very good summary of an INFJ. Concise without compromising the characteristics of the INFJ. All too often I hear very surface level analysis of the INFJ which lead to some false impressions, and you not only avoided this but also got to the underlying truth of this type. Currently I am in a bit of a loop. I find that retirement reinforces this, however the internet gives a sort of false sense of connection. It isn't really connecting you to the world but it satisfies that guilt over not being connected, so hence I think it prolongs it. All the same I am in a hermit mode and finding some insights about myself and so perhaps it's not all bad.

I am fairly new to this field but without a doubt, Susan, this is the most meaningful and accurate take on the INFJ that I've come across. The "signs that you are an INFJ" segment hit me right in the heart. Thank you for doing this work.

For me this difficult task is being more flexible and spontaneous in a new job, without preparation, kinda feels like driving in a new city X).

Short Answer: Most people think we're weirdos, but it's their loss to shun us.

Very insightful and accurate. Your content has been very helpful in helping my ESTP 8 son and I communicate with each other.

I'm so glad! ESTPs are amazing but it can certainly be a challenge for Ni-doms and ESTPs to get through to each other in a meaningful way!

"drive to learn" verses "love to learn". I sometimes wonder if drive and love are the same things. If INFJs have Fi in their shadow are they in touch with the love aspect of learning or is it a "drive" without "love"?

    • @PsychologyJunkie
      @PsychologyJunkie  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

I think they definitely have a drive with love, based on my experiences with INFJ. I think there's a definite hunger and yearning to know more and a personal satisfaction that runs very deep :) What do you think?

@@PsychologyJunkie As an Enneagram 5 INTJ, I learn many times learn out of fear of not knowing enough and I am also uncertain sometimes of my emotion around things in general because of tert Fi. That enneagram 5 insight of myself has made me question my motives about learning. Do I love it or is there really something else going on? Since Fi is more in the unconscious of the INFJ, I was thinking their own self motivations and emotions might not be as much in play so something else might be going on. I dont no. Perhaps I am projecting my own "drive" questions and emotional motivation questions onto them.

We each find love and happiness within ourselves 🙏🏼
what our cognitive stack is doesn't matter.
And just because someone's function is their *shadow".
all that means is that they have to do the inner work in order to integrate the shadow with their Self.
Then accessing your shadow functions isn't any big deal 🙌🏼💯
It's cool, once you get there 👍🏼

Who am I? INFJ / Sigma Male.
These are the best labels that conveniently describe me via my personality. I am not various identities: father, son, fireman, veteran...or even my name.

The title...getting to know and INFJ.
My take: good luck. Better be in it for the long haul bc you are never gonna fully know or understand them completely.
