the guy who calls for the discard warlock is absolutely cooking, and also I think playing the tiny knight of evil instead of expired merchant is actually the better play here, for this challenge rarran would want the enemy trade in that turn, and playing the expired merchant will probably make the enemy not trade and go face

Great video Mr streamer/vidoer, but I couldn't help but notice a miss-play at 15:35 where you ended your turn with three mana without tapping. You see the warlock hero power draws you a card (and does something else I think?). Drawing a card is almost always gonna help put you in an advantageous situation and would make it much easier to avoid taking damage in this challenge.
I am certain this comment has been helpful and that you will avoid such gross miss-plays in the future.

I think in terms of mana systems, HS is miles ahead of mtg. I like a lot of what mtg does but i think lands and the way they impact mana curves is ultimately detrimental to the game. The difference between 3 mana and 4 may be a lot in hearthstone but its a canyon in mtg, and it keeps doing that. Odyn may be 8 mana in hs but for 8 mana in mtg you do stuff like "all your damage is tripled". 10 mana is a board wipe + a big body in hs but 10 mana in mtg is "you have infinite mana".
Also the fact that mana has no inherent cap makes a lot of really degenerate mtg combos happen (that and unlimited board space). mtg is definitely a good game but the simplicity and limits of HS i think are vastly underappreciated in what they do for the game.
I like both games and think they just try to do different things. Magics mana system has its flaws but also allows the designers to go waaay more in depth in fiddling way it. HS is like an arcade game, MtG is like a flight simulator. Neither one is better than the other, they just have different goals for what the player should experience. IMO :)
@@menderbug1mtg is not a flight simulator as I've never started up a flight simulator, been stuck on the ground and thought "hopefully I topdeck some fuel so I have any resource to do things with."
@@menderbug1 see i get where youre coming from but I will never see lands as actually good design. I think it mostly just makes things more frustrating in a way that outweighs the potential benefits. There are ways to do similar things to what they're doing without lands

For what it's worth, they also seem to have the most socially awkward people in a malicious way. Yugioh and Pokemon players are awkward, but kind of in an endearing way.

@@eamk887 seriously the original finley and the horsemen will make all those heroic bosses a cinch. no shot you will die (or even take health hit) when all they use is a garbage default hero power and an outdated cards vs us which we can discover from the pool of Year of Gryphon or something (titan expansion). yes all campaign beside book of heroes/mercenaries or dr boom puzzles or something that does not allow you to use your deck.

as a magic player, magic players suck. there's a lot of elitism -- both in terms of mtg vs other games AND in terms of those who can and can't afford certain decks. it's a game with a really steep buy in, especially if you play paper, and that leads to people that've bought in being very anti-proxy and other accessibility things. not EVERYONE is, of course, but the game's financial structure breeds a lot of different kinds of toxicity.
MTG players are elitist about hearthstone because before it came out they had more claim to “most popular and therefore best” and now they have to cling to what differentiates it to feel good about it lol
