Best cross country skiing on the east coast • Learning to ski • Places local Vermonters love

While we prefer snowboarding, we decided to give cross country skiing a try with Toy’s family at their local resort. Von Trapp Family Lodge is located in the heart of Stowe, VT with beautiful views of Mt Mansfield. The town was charming and the food was great! We, of course, had a great time with Toy’s family and his little cousin Manny who, if you can’t tell, is very passionate about the place. Now that we know how to cross country ski, we hope to be able to use that skill to get more into back country snowboarding and access places that are difficult to get to without XC skis or a snowmobile!
