This has been a great first introduction to a completely new and unknown part of Eclipse - enjoyed it very much and looking forward to next installment.
On my Mac running the same version of Eclipse as you - at 6:20 I had to save before clicking on class* otherwise the java code created did not extend ViewPart or include any of its methods. Just in case it helps anyone else.
