The apartment is an incredibly beautiful place. You have a little piece of paradise that is so secluded and in the native style. Great for taking in the culture, and for relaxing and doing some meditation and yoga. You hit the jackpot! You guys are really living your best life!!

You have refreshed my image of Bali once again.
If one just watches those Nomad living type channels, Bali comes across as a mini California with expensive apartments, restaurants, gyms, etc.
I saw a new hotel review/ tour of a Palm Beach style villa hotel that was beautiful but was $700 a night in Bali 😮
So once again thanks for showing us how slow travel works and with some effort we can travel or retire to these places on a low budget. 👍

A perfect place to spend 3 to 6 months Geographically spectacular Best to cook for yourself I could easily split time between Vietnam, Thailand, the Phillipines and Bali and live extremely well on $1500 a month. International food can quickly raise your cost of living.

    • @VagabondAwake

@frankcentofanti9317, There is no set cost of living for everyone. The fact that one person can live on a certain amount does not mean that another person can live on that amount. The only way to know what your expenses would be is to go there and pick where you are going to live, eat, drink, and entertain yourself and add it all up. You must do an exploratory visit with your feet on the ground before you will know your cost of living. Thanks for watching and commenting on the video. Dan

At one time I worked in Jakarta, and I have visited Bali at least 5 times. This was over 25 years ago and as a relatively young dude I spent a lot of time at the two popular night clubs located on Kuda Beach. The most popular was Double Sixes which opened at 6.00 pm and closed at 6:00 am (hence the name) and I believe that this is the place were Mick Jager got married. I can't remember the name of the other club that was just next door, but it was a lot of fun as well. At the time the old Bali hands at the end of the bar kept telling me that Bali is ruined and that I should have been here 20 years ago. I wasn't quite sure what they were talking about because at the time I didn't think that Bali could ever have been much better, and if it was really better 20 years ago, then it must truly have been the promised land. Now that I am retired, (I think) and living in the USA, I would really like to revisit Bali and spend some serious time there. I hope that I will not take over the role of the old Bali hands and bore all the tourists by telling them that they should have been here 20 years ago. Just call me the Ancient Mariner and the tourist well they are the wedding guests. Please forgive me Mr. Coleridge. Glory days they will pass you by in the wink of a young Balinese girl's eye...... Please forgive me Bruce. See, it is happening already!.

I never thought of Bali being one of my options. I find its form of Hinduism very interesting. Seems to be a mix with Buddhism and the indigenous religion. That 'Truth is one, paths are many' resonates with me. Also, the beauty of Bali and its location a little further away from mainland China. It's going on my exploratory list for sure now.

It always surprises me how in all this videos about retirees - abroad ect …very few people mentions about the costs of medicines , hospitals , doctors , ect …and what about the costs of say you fall from a bike and broke your leg ??? any idea of the costs of that ?? . Its free where I live in Europe . But of course I paid enough taxes while my working live to warrant it .
Just saying this because as a retiree we are no longer in our 30s ?? 40s ?? perhaps 60 ??

Vaqar Hussain, My recommendation is that nobody move anywhere without buying a round trip ticket, putting their feet on the ground, surveying the lifestyle available at their cost of living and making up their own mind. That may sound like I am trying to avoid you being angry at me, but it is really what I believe every single person needs to do before they decide for themselves what to do with their lives. Some people will love it here. Some will hate it. That is my honest recommendation. The problem is that you probably can't afford to visit every country I love before you decide which ones to visit. For that I recommend watching my playlists by country and reading my reports by country to narrow the scope of your foreign research.
      TH-cam Playlist By Country: www.youtube.com/@VagabondAwake/playlists
