As an old man who has done this work my whole life I really appreciate these young folks applying the trade!Am quite surprised by the mechanical hammers as they are very expensive, especially for the young people.I do want the film maker to know that his effort has impressed me very much!!!
Fantastic! looks like you had an amazing trip :) good for you. I am fortunate enough to have theyr Wildlife hatchet - what a great piece of kit, to bring while out camping. Thank you for the tour, it was fun to see where my axe was made :)
Great video, what a fun. experience! I have 3 Gransfors axes and have just ordered another. They've never let me down, always a joy to use. I also gave one, a Small Forest Axe, to my uncle about 6 yrs ago and he's used it almost every day since. It looks 50 years old with all the wear and tear on it, and he raves about how much he enjoys it every time I see him.
What an amazing place to visit! Thank you for sharing this experience and thanks to the men who helped you out. 🙏 Well wishes possitive energy and blessings to ya now Crawford out
Love the recipe thanks for sharing! I only had a lime in the fridge so I used that, careful cutting into the lime after it comes off the grill, the blast of steaming hot lime juice to the face was a bit of a shocker, glad I had glasses on! It actually scalded my forehead.
Great video!!👍 Really enjoyed watching it, good to see how they produce their axes. No doubt you had a wonderful time there. Regards from Down Under. P.S. Wish I’d been there with you, looked like you were all having an enjoyable time.
Their steel is first rate. When you are there can you buy any? Best Gransfors Bruk video i have seen. I am only sorry that i understand or speak pretty much zero Swedish.
This was a clean example of the small forest axe! Of the thousands I have seen in the shop and in every shipment, most of them are crooked have horrible forging! With deep depressions around the cheeks! LP and MB(the axe smith of the axe in this video) are the only two smiths in GB who don’t ruin the axe cheeks by deep depressions! LP unfortunately retired a few years back! Thanks for the video
Have I understood it correctly if the goat in steel (At 1:15 in the video) is their own interpretation of the Gävle goat? For those of you who have no idea about the Gävle goat, take a look at the link. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/G%C3%A4vle_goat
Vad kul!! jag önskar jag kan gå till Sverige och se det här mig själv någon dag.Jag saknar Sverige jag har inte varit i nio år. Men tyvärr .. biljett från USA skulle bli väldigt Dyrt!
I now know the difference between an artisan and a factory. Personally, I prefer the artisan’s product over mass production. Sorry for the short but heartfelt rant.
I was thinking that's the worst possible thing to do to the axe head after it's already been hardened and heat treated, slamming a big steel hammer on the head. I'm not the expert but I know a little metallurgy. You'd think it wouldn't help the head and would do more harm than good. That's one step of the manufacturing process that should be done away with.
@@WoodsmanHobo777 or maybe it is a matter of threshold; A local smith used to demonstrate/ proof his axes to his customers by cutting carpenters nails with the axe in front of them. If it left a mark- he would refuse to sell the axe.
@@alfiversen7023 They've been manufacturing axes for hundreds of years. Pretty sure they got it perfected, no need to hit the hardened head with a steel hammer, also pretty sure that it puts stress in the steel and makes it more prone to break in the future. In my opinion it's just unnecessary to do that to the head.
I wonder if you'd be willing to do a 2nd tour like this one...Gransfors Bruks has been suffering some serious quality control issues lately from what I've read. I wonder if something has changed in that factory?
I still have Frederik's business card in my wallet from my time there , have 2 axe blanks also from the scrap bins ,,,, shhh dont tell anyone ( ps Fredrick gave them to me ) still have not made axes from them prob never will.

Godbless you sir for helping to pave the road of smithing for us younger generation or atleast the one's not allergic to real work.
Man, I LOVE that sculpture of the fiddling goat.
That was brilliant! I’ve just bought a 430 so watching this and seeing the process was very cool. Thank you for the tour, excellent work!
Lovely, looks like you had a great time! I know you had :)
The return of the king
Wonderful video. The passion for quality axes and tools is so apparent in every corner of that forge.
Brilliant.. I have just ordered one...can't wait for it to arrive

Nice! So cool to see the inside of my favorite axe manufacturer!
Amazing combination of machinery and hand forging
Indeed!
I bought a Small Forest Axe some years ago. Best Axe I've ever had, you can use them single-handed or double.
These first axes look amazing! Great tour!

The way they test the hardness of the axe says that they're well made axes

Would love to go there too someday
I have a small forest axe! 👍🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Can you make Tuatahi racing stile axe ??
that is a cool statue if pan
I trust wranglestar and he said these guys make great axes
Why the hell would you trust that guy?
This is why they are as good as they are and why they cost what they do. Second to none.
one of my dreams are to go to Sweden, buy 1 axe and made something with you or Mr ThunderBear

Is there a USA location
Axe: power 85 durability 90 weight 5
Hatchet: power 65 durability 75 weight 5
Press "e" to equip.
👍👍🤠🤠
I had no idea Sweden drove on the right side of the road.
Since 1967
Did you ever ask them how old the masters were?
Is the tour guide speaking finnish or Swedish?
Swedish with a ”continental” accent
Yo, why isn't the steering wheel on the right side of the car.
Because I live in Sweden
We srive on the right side of the road
En vacker dag ska jag gå en yxkurs där...
👍🤙
Schweden ist ein gelobtes Land! Und die Leute sind auch wunderbar!
I’m have the this axe and it’s a MB
