I would disagree. This has nothing to do with basketball and everything to do with football. Kansas has played 130 years of football and have 12 bowl appearances with 6 bowl wins. Therefore, I propose they move to the American Athletic Conference for football and play basketball in the BIG 10.
Umm… no they don’t. Football makes significant more money than every other college sport combined (look it up). In fact, if it weren’t for college football programs, most colleges would not have any other sport because the revenue generated from football funds the other athletic teams. It actually has everything to do with money and the money comes from football.

East: OU, TEXAS, OLE MISS, MISS ST., MIZZOU., TAMU, LSU, and ARKANSAS West: ALABAMA, AUBURN, UGA, TENN., FLORIDA, S. CAROLINA, KENTUCKY, and VANDY If you do it this way then not only does it geographically make the most sense but you can preserve just about all of the rivalries especially if you give every team at least one cross division rival each year. It would then leave 4 games total for non conference opponents as well.
