Having grown up in the arctic, these tracks capture the feeling incredibly well. Especially the first two. They bring such a wave of nostalgia. It's so very cold. Far more dangerous than it seems at first glance. Help is far, far away, if they can even find you. Yet it's so beautiful, and so serene. I've lived in the desert and in the rainforest, in prairies and sunny coasts, in big cities and small towns. None call me back like the arctic.
I think "serene" was the feeling they were going for in this music and they did it masterfully. You're right about the danger, which is also shown in the game in the form of dead bodies scattered throughout the landscape but even then I think, there is serenity in death itself.
I have never been to the Arctic. Never. Still, since childhood, I felt that the North is my home. I don't have such sympathy for Antarctica, but for the Arctic, for the North... I don't know if reincarnation actually exists, but in a past life, I must have lived in the Arctic. I dream of visiting the Arctic at least once in my life.
@@Archil8884 the most straightforward way to get into the polar circle is a cruise to Svalbard. But if you want to get to the exact north pole you probably have to get really specific
I must say, reading the journals towards the end really made me tear up a bit, especially knowing that this was not purely fictious and happend similarly in real life.
