Nice break…I remember in 2018 I bought 2 value packs and got the Ohtani, Ohtani debut, and Soto in same value pack and a green auto and red Lindor ASG /25 in other value pack. Def beat the odds.
Its alot of fun to watch an "older" RIP. I wouild have a hard time getting back to even here as I would want to keep all the Acunas.
Stryker, I opened several of these in 18 and regretted it. I did however keep 3 Mega boxes left sealed. At least you got some Acuna Jr, pink Soto, and Ohtani. Thanks for sharing!

Damn… I bought a case of 2018 topps chrome update megas in early 2019 on BAM site for $835 shipped. I can’t believe how the price really shot up. I opened a lot but I got 19 boxes left. I’m not sure to hold to them another 10 years, sell half of my boxes or what. Great video Stryker, I love the whole 2018 series!
2018 is my favorite design. Checklist, quality, and parallels are all top of the top.
Back in late 2019, I was finding these packs in Fairfield repack boxes. The ones with the clear packaging so can see what the pack end was. I only got an Acuna debut, Devers, and Albies rcs. Thanks for the 2018 rips. I love them!
The single packs, not the fat packs.

That was more like a 2 run dinger. A pink Shohei would have been a grand slam. Not bad for a crazy gamble.

I opened about 10 of these in November '22 at 99/per from Blowout. You did pretty well on the base but only one numbered card is tough. In general, would have at least expected 2-3 refractors /250. Thanks for the content - enjoyed the video.
Probably the most fun product to rip and the fact I’ve never seen the Soto auto super makes it even more fun

Wish I have brought more of 2018 Topps Chrome jumbo box. I remember is around 500-600 a box 2020

2018 was great year for ripping,i started back collecting , hitting the acuna redemption got me chasing . Getting the 2018 packs on clearance was a bonus.
Nice break....I've been deciding on opening the last 10 value packs I have left of 2018 chrome update...I kept them to ride out the prices but as of late I think I missed my chance to make optimum profit

Opened around 100 mega boxes and maybe around the same amount of the value packs. Hit a Soto orange auto /25 and Acuna Auto /125 with countless other stuff. Sold them too soon : (

I ripped about 500 megas and 200 cellos back when these had the 25 off 100 discounts from my 9 area targets long before anyone cared about flipping

Topps did everything right 2018 with the chrome.Just absolutely beautiful especially the pinks my God they are gorgeous cards.
I been using the Cardshellz products since November of last year and I will never go back to the stuff I was using cut sleeves so much easier to put cards special the die cuts

Awesome rip! The Soto probably saved the day value-wise. QC of chrome cards has definitely gone way down for both Topps and Panini the past few years, likely due to volume increases and material/labor shortages. These cards look great!

Love the videos Stryker I’m kind of excited I got my first really old baseball card today from 1910 I feel like I own a piece of history it’s one of those that come out of the cigarette packs back then thinking about getting a mantle next
Great video. The pre covid Era. No breakers online, cards were reasonably priced and probably easier to find in stock. Quality has went downhill from then.

I love the 2018 and 2019 designs, but I'll stick to buying singles. The All-Star cards, the later Home Run Derby cards, and even the rookie debuts are a stupid gimmick that waters down the update stuff way too much for my liking. I'd rather they kept it to true rookies and traded players and simply short printed the top guys to keep the chase alive. Thanks for the fun rip, though. I was holding my breath for you the whole way! hehe

I ripped so much of this I got both ohtani pinks and i was able to put together 2 complete sets with the inserts. I'm glad i got bored that day lol

Id wish i could afford to rip one of these but the megas are going for over 100$ i cant do all that for a 5 minute rip
are value packs safer in terms of avoiding products that have been pre-searched? I would think they're a. a bit harder to search and reseal but also b. that it would be harder to "game" a case compared to something like hobbies or hangers. definitely feel very hesitant toward putting so much $ into a product that is pretty far removed from its release and liable for fraud :/
