ABBA was the first album I bought in 1978 when I was 16, don’t remember which one it was. I loved every song they ever made. No one would admit to ever listening to ABBA back then but I think they all did.
@@shereekendall1003 I think Agnetha is hotter personally but objectively they're both gorgeous. It's interesting how guys tend to favour Agnetha and women either Frida or say both are equal. I guess women empathise with Frida and her frustration at the attention Agnetha got.

Most of the ABBA songs just make you feel happy, they just kinda lift your heart. Go for it, let ABBA make you dance. Probably some of the best music to come from Sweden, ever.
I've been an ABBA fan since I was about 10 years old. I didn't request any ABBA songs, but I've wait a long time for this song knowing you'll get to it. This album came out in 1979 as the DISCO years were winding down. It's a great album. Another hit from this album is Angel Eyes.
I'm with you, my love of music began at 4 years old (late 60s) and has never stopped and never will. All kinds of music, I always say my ears are wide open. Impossible to stick to just one kind of music. Music is the air I breathe! Don't let anybody tell you what to or what not to listen to!!

Love your ABBA reactions. Makes me feel proud to be Swedish. Went to the ABBA museum in Stockholm last summer. Awesome! Björn and Benny are there sometimes. Lovely guys. 😍
Abba singing The Way Old Friends Do (Live @ Wembley -1979) With Introduction, is very possibly the best Abba song you are yet to review. It will make the hairs on your neck stand on end. A truly stunning performance. ✌️
Thank you for all of your abba reactions. I really really would love to see you react to SOS. One of the greatest pop songs ever, according to John Lennon (and me!)
Agnetha is hot and so are the lyrics here! JB please react to her beautiful song that she recorded a few years ago. It is called When You Really Love Someone. This track really shows off her vocals and you can see in the video she has still got the looks too! Beautiful. She is in her sixties and still looks fantastic. She is 70 on 5th April, now i am feeling older.!
Grandma's are great... Mine was born in 1902 and she used to listen to Lynyrd Skynyrd with me... She played piano and thought Skynyrd keyboards was really good. Gimme Three Steps was her favorite.
Go, Grandma! She listens to whatever floats her boat! (And, now we know from whom You inherited Your open mind and diversified taste in music - my hat's off to You and Your Grandma!🎩🎼🎶💕)
Excellent choice. xx This was in the UK top 40 in the summer of 1979. It was a double A side with Angel eyes on the flip side. Great year for music, notable for the Electric Light Orchestra's Discovery album, Supertamp, Elvis Costello, Earth Wind and Fire's Boogie wonderland and many other fantastic hits 😉
Thanks for your videos! It touches my heart that a man of your generation loves the music I was brought up with. To me, ABBA will forever be the best band and I am so happy that younger generations find their music! My suggestions for further reactions: Lay All Your Love on Me (great disco!) and Slipping Through My Fingers (the live version from the 1981 Dick Cavett show). P.S. Back in the 70s an unknown number of men (and women!) were in love with Agnetha Fältskog. She is just... well, she doesn't compare! D.S.
Hello, check out The ABBA song "gimme gimme gimme (a man after midnight). Make sure its the official music video to the song where it shows them in a recording studio while recording the song.
So good to see you reacting to ABBA again. This is a fun song. You should check out the live video of Does Your Mother Know/Hole In Your Soul from ABBA in 1979. They really bring the high energy live !
Mr James sir .... I'm screaming at you to play "S.O.S" and "LAY ALL YOUR LOVE ON ME" and you might as well throw in " I WONDER " for good measure. ABBA !
The title track to what I concider one of their greatest albums, if not THE best of them all. Not a bad song on there and the same goes with the "Super trouper"- and "The visitors"-albums.
Thanks for taking us with you on these journeys of discovery. Too many of us get too comfortable in our own little lanes, or find that we've become too cynical and closed in mind and heart. The world can be a tough place, all the more so to those that feel things so strongly. It's tempting to turn the volume down on the world and so many people go through their days and years ever more closed down. Feeling the discovery, joy, and that irreplaceable fun in experiencing these legends along with you is a great reminder that respecting other's perspectives and experiences is incredibly valuable. Discovering a song that feels like you've always heard it somewhere deep in your heart, or that says something you feel right away, is priceless. Keep your head up always. Much love.
Benny and Bjorn were the songwriters and can you believe that there was actually a kind of "ABBA backlash" especially from music critics because they had so many hits? Some critics claimed that they had some kind of formula for writing hit songs and they would just used that formula. I saw a recent interview with Bjorn (the guitarist) and he said that claim was so ridiculous. He said they were just writing songs and had no idea if anybody would even like them.
It's not so much that ABBA had a formula. It's that they were masters of knowing exactly what a lot of people would like at any given point in time, and were also masters at crafting the perfect songs in every way imaginable to fit that want/need. So it's more craftsmanship than pure artistry, perhaps, but no less impressive and it requires no less talent. It's just that it's a *(slightly)* different talent comparatively. The Bjorn claim is ridiculous, however, because it is rather well-documented that ABBA knew _exactly_ what they were doing.

Bro, you still have so much ABBA to hear and arguably, you've not covered all their best material yet, some if it, but certainly not all. Suggestions? Early tracks; SOS (several prominent musicians have said SOS is the best pop song ever written), you need to react to that!
