Imo, Armor needs to become just Physical Damage Resistance. They can still call it Armor for sentimental reasons, with something like 100 Armor = 1% Physical Resistance (I made that number up, just as an example), but the Physical Armor Resist needs to become linear. Thus, the concept of Armor will become actually understandable to players without access to Kripparrian's Armor Damage chart and it will be easier for the devs to balance things should a tweak be required.
Yeah, I was really hoping for a more substantial buff. If they're going to revamp it later anyway, why not just make it 50% more effective for now? The Scavenged Plating buff is nice, but means nothing when armor still sucks

Well done pointing out the controller targeting issue - I was getting pretty annoyed with my monk insisting on hitting the bell instead of the monster I was directing at with the stick. It was indeed very annoying and a good fix.

I think there's a bug with skills and things where any action causes the reload animation to completely start over. It feels super bad when your surrounded and start panick pressing buttons and your crossbow just constantly resets its animation. It's gotten me killed a couple times.
It "jams" after an animation cancel. So when you ROLL. IT LITERALLY LOCKS UP IF YOU ROLL AND RELOAD VIA FIRING. I can't even do breaches because my weapon won't fire.
Meh should have been free and the finished game should have been 30$... Game is still just boring and over hyped... Not fun at all, loot sucks, maps r too damn big for no reason.. Was cool for a few hours or a day but got old quick.

This was huge for me too! It's the reason I've died in some sumulacrums, monsters spawn and push you into more monsters, can't do anything about it. dead. Great change.

11:52 Wooo! These crossbow bug fixes are going to help me so much on controller. I did not even realize it was a bug. I just thought it was a quirk I had to work around, but I never tried crossbow with keyboard and mouse to even realize that this quirk was not intended.
Targeting on WASD settings is bugged, you shoot all over the place, you have no idea where to hold or what to do with the mouse because you consistently shoot randomly at the desired target.
It's fun when you're fighting a rare that puts up a circle of thorns and your character just constantly keeps hitting the thorns instead of the monster. At least with Grim Feast you get a ton of remnants.
yeah its pretty fine. run around in a circle, pull the levers after clearing the doorways and run to middle. burningground could be an issue, but thats solved with resistance, potions et.

The tempest bell targeting on a controller got me killed once. Rolled out of an on death explosion while bell was still in the middle of it. Wanted to attack a mob away from the area and instead got ported to my bell right as the explosion happened. Good change!
I kind of felt the same. Everyone complained about dreadnought but I actually farmed it a whole bunch before doing the act 2 boss and really enjoyed it I hope it's still as good
On controller when using tempest bell the auto target wouldn’t let you pick up items off the ground. Also when the controller battery dies you are auto-booted to the main menu, so these changes really help console players!
that controller disconnecting bug is such a huge fix, the amount of rooms and bosses i’ve had to restart on because i got sent back to the login screen was frustrating
@@RobV-vy3mb If you are playing with a controller with a cable in it and you have a bad contact on your controller / your cable is wonky, it can disconnect randomly even when you hold it still. This is very unlikely about it dying due to an empty battery
I'm heaving an issue with crossbows, after increasing attack speed beyond certain threshold, the bolts will simply fail randomly using a controller, hope that's what they fixing. It's becoming nerve-wracking to fight bosses because there's 90% chance the bolts will fail or not register at some point in the fight. Really shucks out the fun completely.
I appreciate the hell out of these patch summaries videos. 18 pages is a lot of info. I am so happy for the loot filter on console and changes to the insta-kill things. I have such fear of explosions now that I roll far away from every rare I kill. Dying to it, even when Im outside of the explosion radius effect, feels so bad. Although I thought I read that the patch was supposed to launch Friday...it would be nice to be wrong, and it comes earlier.
So I'm not the only one who is super paranoid of the map rare mob kill effect... I still haven't tried touching it but this seems to confirm it's just a harmless visual. They really shouldn't make it look like that when there are actual on death effects that'll just murder you.

You literally just said you never fought the hardest content yet are complaining about them making the hardest content easier. they still need to fix not being able to use quick move actions in stashes in trials on controller and where if you die in trials of sekemah you have to exit game on controller cause youre not given the option to respawn at the begining room or town plus it would be really nice to have an updated auto input selection so we dont have to back out to the main menu to change from controller to keyboard cause you are literally locked out of some functions on controller when in menus

One thing to note too with the migration. In POE1, you could "migrate all" and get a clean SSF restart. That may be the case here too which is nice. Hopefully so, I'd love to do an SSF reset. Honestly would benefit GGG too to get more testing in regarding say map progression, or leveling progression.
Rax you went right past the nerfs to Boss Waystone drops. I guess time will tell but they seemed to be saying the boss changes would help with sustain but the nerfs go against that.
Great summary mate. I started playing PoE2 co-op this week. Loving it so far but I did feel the revive speed could be a bit quicker. The patch drops it by ~20% which seems small but will make a big difference.
This would be a small patch notes for D4. If you are going to rip on a game at least be honest about it. That is largely because there were so few class changes. These changes are targeted better than D4's which generally are more throwing changes at the wall and seeing what will stick than knowing their own game.

AMAZING patch! They missed a very important issue though. They need to change the Divine Orb's tooltip to "Sell this for exalted orbs". Using the Divine Orb for whatever the tooltip currently says is the biggest single mistake a player can make in the trade league
So nothing im regards to the cpu bug causing a hard freeze and lockup on PC’s even though theres like a 300+ page thread on their forums. Devs Swept that under rug and didn’t even mention it.
I found solution for my case, I had crazy cpu usage spikes on intel+nvidia 4080 laptop. What helped: 1) nvidia drivers and app were selecting poe1 profile internally somehow, so via Nvidia Profile Inspector party tool 2) shader cache 100gb. It is like 10 times better now
I actually started PoE2 right after having hand surgery (literally the day of release) so I started playing with an Xbox controller on PC and have since kept using it because of how fluid it is for movement. It SUCKED not being able to switch to m/k though for things like trading and other random UI stuff so that’s a huge improvement in my eyes lol
@ classic response. Thought I was on reddit for a second. I can tell that you didn't think about it for longer than 2 seconds. And your feeling for any of the meta-CoX skills comes from watching some crazy youtube video of abusing flawed mechanics. There is no reason for it to not be "intended" that the triggered skills can also generate small amount of energy. In regular builds it works like a charm and is miles away from being overpowerd - compared to all the other super broken BS out there that hasn't been touched the past month. All they have to do is stop the infinite loop shenanigans. And not again NERF CoX even more and reduce the viable building options for late game even more. Yes there is broken stuff that has to be fixed. But butchering mediocre in-between builds just to stop the high level abuse is not it imo.

I'm glad that they didn't nerf concoctions and I understand that they had to fix the bug with concoctions scaling with "damage with bow skills" affix. But man, the prefixes on my quiver are basically useless.
Regarding Armour, here are 2 solutions that could be considered imo: - A: the scaling stays similar to how it is, but the size of the hit should just not matter for damage mitigation at all in PoE 2 (the %mitigation on the character sheet should be truthful for any hit size!). That way Armourstacking or even having some Armour would be more worthwhile for any character, and allows Warrior's to have a better nichè in tanking damage, while boss mechanics could still be designed to have some that oneshot you by penetrating Armour (if they are intended to be oneshots) - B: Armour as a flat stat is removed, instead items have % Armour on them (a helmet could have 4% Armour, for example). These base stats are additive and mainly come from Gear or certain skills, and can than be scaled further on the Passive Tree or with special Uniques. Essentially, Armour would work similar to elemental resistances (with a cap that can be scaled as well), and scaling Armour% would work similar to how Crit is being scaled (base crit 15% + inc. Crit Chance mods, for comparison) The baseline Idea for B comes from another comment, so I don't take credit for it, but think it's a nice and clean solution that could also be applied to how Evasion Rating on Gear is shown! edit: credit goes to kieranclarke4373 for solution B :P
Rudja attaches the grenades to the end of her weapon which explodes when hit, usually for a 1-hit kill. Hope that's what they're referring to with that fix.

I've only found 1 citadel after spending 100+ hours in endgame and I ended up dying in 1 frame after getting the map boss below 10% HP, which made me quit. Being able to see citadels in the fog might be enough to bring me back it's such a huge change.

I pray some of the reload fixes for the Merc smoothing out some. By the second act, I almost always quit and delete him due to the reload mechanic and the issues it has.
As someone trying to get to lvl 100, this a net negative patch with those breach nerfs bc now you need tablets with density instead of additional breaches to get decent chains. Also the zoom is worse than with the esc + zoom out bug wich makes it way worse (for me) to navigate the atlas. Also they really need to fix the sound of mobs abilities still playing after you killed them, makes you still wait after you killed a rare in a lot of instances.
I think Augury wouldn't be bad if they changed the levers to the walk over trap buttons that are in the trials. I also believe that crossbow was designed on a gamepad as opposed to kbm. The targeting on it I have mentioned in the forums about the target acquisition and delay in firing. It wants to stay locked on to an enemy behind me rather than the mob in front of me.
Siege Cascade targetting vines and ice wall was funnest things to do with that skill. Really sucks that they fixing that because Siege Cascade feels pretty bad without it

6:52 the two areas where they reduced the quantity of monsters are my two favorite zones in the campaign. The monster density is the best part.

? PS5 gives you 2 notifications that battery is running low. Should be time enough to attach a cable. Don't think it's any different on XBOX ?

It's becoming nerve-wracking to fight bosses because there's 90% chance the bolts will fail or not register at some point in the fight. Really shucks out the fun completely.

I appreciate the hell out of these patch summaries videos. 18 pages is a lot of info. I am so happy for the loot filter on console and changes to the insta-kill things. I have such fear of explosions now that I roll far away from every rare I kill. Dying to it, even when Im outside of the explosion radius effect, feels so bad.
Although I thought I read that the patch was supposed to launch Friday...it would be nice to be wrong, and it comes earlier.

So I'm not the only one who is super paranoid of the map rare mob kill effect... I still haven't tried touching it but this seems to confirm it's just a harmless visual. They really shouldn't make it look like that when there are actual on death effects that'll just murder you.

But my home brew builds have literally never been one shot by anything listed. I’ve yet to fight a pinnacle boss, but sheesh. Any time I’ve been stuck I go to trade and for 1 ex I’ll get a better weapon and then it’s back to cheese
You literally just said you never fought the hardest content yet are complaining about them making the hardest content easier. I'm glad you have a better grasp of that content than the many hardcore players who have done these bosses dozens of times. Thanks for your wonderful insights. You also aren't getting a 1ex weapon that's capable of 1 shotting pinnacle bosses.

@@erupter76500 first of all the nerfs he listed are not pinnacle bosses 😂😂. Also I never said I buy weapons that “one shot” anything but if you know how to search for a good weapon it will definitely make your current content easier.
they still need to fix not being able to use quick move actions in stashes in trials on controller and where if you die in trials of sekemah you have to exit game on controller cause youre not given the option to respawn at the begining room or town plus it would be really nice to have an updated auto input selection so we dont have to back out to the main menu to change from controller to keyboard cause you are literally locked out of some functions on controller when in menus

As a controller/ monk player … having it auto target your bell was the most annoying.. huge win
One thing to note too with the migration. In POE1, you could "migrate all" and get a clean SSF restart. That may be the case here too which is nice. Hopefully so, I'd love to do an SSF reset. Honestly would benefit GGG too to get more testing in regarding say map progression, or leveling progression.
Rax you went right past the nerfs to Boss Waystone drops. I guess time will tell but they seemed to be saying the boss changes would help with sustain but the nerfs go against that.

Great summary mate. I started playing PoE2 co-op this week. Loving it so far but I did feel the revive speed could be a bit quicker. The patch drops it by ~20% which seems small but will make a big difference.

GGG's EA patch somehow ended being bigger than D4's entire patch history
This would be a small patch notes for D4. If you are going to rip on a game at least be honest about it. That is largely because there were so few class changes. These changes are targeted better than D4's which generally are more throwing changes at the wall and seeing what will stick than knowing their own game.

AMAZING patch! They missed a very important issue though. They need to change the Divine Orb's tooltip to "Sell this for exalted orbs". Using the Divine Orb for whatever the tooltip currently says is the biggest single mistake a player can make in the trade league

So nothing im regards to the cpu bug causing a hard freeze and lockup on PC’s even though theres like a 300+ page thread on their forums.
Devs Swept that under rug and didn’t even mention it.
They only mentioned 4 fixes and didn't give any details on what those 4 fixes are. I'm having the same issues
I found solution for my case, I had crazy cpu usage spikes on intel+nvidia 4080 laptop. What helped: 1) nvidia drivers and app were selecting poe1 profile internally somehow, so via Nvidia Profile Inspector party tool 2) shader cache 100gb. It is like 10 times better now

I actually started PoE2 right after having hand surgery (literally the day of release) so I started playing with an Xbox controller on PC and have since kept using it because of how fluid it is for movement. It SUCKED not being able to switch to m/k though for things like trading and other random UI stuff so that’s a huge improvement in my eyes lol
Almost zero nerfs, besides that one thing that got nerfed twice already in a month that was supposed to not see any nerfs xD

@ classic response. Thought I was on reddit for a second. I can tell that you didn't think about it for longer than 2 seconds. And your feeling for any of the meta-CoX skills comes from watching some crazy youtube video of abusing flawed mechanics. There is no reason for it to not be "intended" that the triggered skills can also generate small amount of energy. In regular builds it works like a charm and is miles away from being overpowerd - compared to all the other super broken BS out there that hasn't been touched the past month. All they have to do is stop the infinite loop shenanigans. And not again NERF CoX even more and reduce the viable building options for late game even more. Yes there is broken stuff that has to be fixed. But butchering mediocre in-between builds just to stop the high level abuse is not it imo.

Nah I felt completely the opposite was the case as with piss poor drop chances for rares leveling is hard now end game is way easier once you can buy stuff you need

Okay. For me less Bosses that are harder but drop much better feels way better, than more bosses for less loot. But that is just me.

Regarding Armour, here are 2 solutions that could be considered imo:
- A: the scaling stays similar to how it is, but the size of the hit should just not matter for damage mitigation at all in PoE 2 (the %mitigation on the character sheet should be truthful for any hit size!). That way Armourstacking or even having some Armour would be more worthwhile for any character, and allows Warrior's to have a better nichè in tanking damage, while boss mechanics could still be designed to have some that oneshot you by penetrating Armour (if they are intended to be oneshots)
- B: Armour as a flat stat is removed, instead items have % Armour on them (a helmet could have 4% Armour, for example). These base stats are additive and mainly come from Gear or certain skills, and can than be scaled further on the Passive Tree or with special Uniques. Essentially, Armour would work similar to elemental resistances (with a cap that can be scaled as well), and scaling Armour% would work similar to how Crit is being scaled (base crit 15% + inc. Crit Chance mods, for comparison)
The baseline Idea for B comes from another comment, so I don't take credit for it, but think it's a nice and clean solution that could also be applied to how Evasion Rating on Gear is shown!

Rudja attaches the grenades to the end of her weapon which explodes when hit, usually for a 1-hit kill. Hope that's what they're referring to with that fix.

I've only found 1 citadel after spending 100+ hours in endgame and I ended up dying in 1 frame after getting the map boss below 10% HP, which made me quit. Being able to see citadels in the fog might be enough to bring me back it's such a huge change.
very stoked on the loot filter for consoles !! I always rotate between PC/PS5 so having that will make my life a million times better in endgame..

Holy cow. I don't have an ad blocker on my laptop and i think an ad played every 45 seconds of this video.
I pray some of the reload fixes for the Merc smoothing out some. By the second act, I almost always quit and delete him due to the reload mechanic and the issues it has.
You know the content is going to be good when Raxx breaks out the Paint.
As someone trying to get to lvl 100, this a net negative patch with those breach nerfs bc now you need tablets with density instead of additional breaches to get decent chains. Also the zoom is worse than with the esc + zoom out bug wich makes it way worse (for me) to navigate the atlas. Also they really need to fix the sound of mobs abilities still playing after you killed them, makes you still wait after you killed a rare in a lot of instances.
I think Augury wouldn't be bad if they changed the levers to the walk over trap buttons that are in the trials.
I also believe that crossbow was designed on a gamepad as opposed to kbm. The targeting on it I have mentioned in the forums about the target acquisition and delay in firing. It wants to stay locked on to an enemy behind me rather than the mob in front of me.

Siege Cascade targetting vines and ice wall was funnest things to do with that skill. Really sucks that they fixing that because Siege Cascade feels pretty bad without it
