These are amazing and very helpful suggestions; thank you! I am purchasing every single one now to read to my 5th graders this year! 🙂
Thank you for sharing your information with us! Your energy and genuine interest in books is a boost to all teachers!
Loved this video! Thanks for all the great info. I feel like you would be great at writing book studies!
Love the encouragement to read picture books to my 5th grader. I skipped this part when he was younger, and I think that contributed to his lack of desire to read. Going to give it a try and see if we can’t spark some joy. Any recommendations for a place that sells these books for a good price? Fellow Michigander from the Hillsdale area.
I loved This is How We Do It
Great ideas! Thank you for your encouragement in reading aloud to kids.
Love all your recommendations! Thank you for you channel 😊
A couple of my absolute favorite books as well are The Other Side by Jacqueline Woodson. Great book for all ages to discuss the separations between people due to the color of their skin. Fabulous discussions. The other is a non-fiction book - Her Fearless Run: Kathrine Switzer’s Historic Boston Marathon. The kids were spellbound throughout this book. Great lessons on determination despite obstacles. Lastly, because you’re from Michigan, I loved reading the Legend of Michigan (complete with theatrical voices).
I love your enthusiasm about reading. I found that if I loved the book, that enthusiasm was catching.
When you read Big to your class, did you also read aloud the Author's Note to them?
