This is a good but slightly unsettling reminder I forgot to paint when I did rivnuts on my bed (for rack). It's probably okay but I should drill them out and reinstall this summer.
My prinsu pro arrives this week!! I've watched a bunch of videos in preparation for its arrival, but this one was really helpful. I dropped the headliner yesterday to install a dash cam and removed the oem rack while I was in there. Turns out that the Hybrid Woodland has an entirely different rack and bolt system!! Thanks for the tip on the A-pillar clips!! Needle nose worked like a charm!
@@JasonExplainsThings Hello, I just tried to take off my factory flush roof rails. There are NO holes other than the 4 you have to get under the headliner for... what gives
Prinsu says the weight limit is 400 lbs while moving, 800 lbs static (2 people sleeping in a roof tent for example). So... more than enough for any reasonable use! :-)
Can i have those bolts? 4:00 😂 that's the one i needed for my 2023 rav4 le. 😅stupid toyota remove the option to install crossbars for 2022-2023 rav4 Le. 😅
No, but that part isn't bad. They aren't glued in place. But... putting the interior parts back on (especially the A-Pillar trim that covers an air bag) are a little tricky.
Just installed this rack on my 2023 Rav4 and noticed the first crossbar is vibrating like crazy when above speeds of 55mph. Any suggestions to fix the vibration?

Yeah if you live in a wet climate I'd suggest doing that at some point.
@@JasonExplainsThings They salt the roads here, should be enough to push me to do it. I think 1 year is okay, but not many years.
Much love for my fellow WASHINGTONIAN Utube Video Makers! 🖖

Wow, installing their rack on the Tacoma is a million times easier. lol Great instruction gang :)
Totally! 4Runner is way easier also. But it’s doable. 👍
Loving all the DIY install videos lately, keep up the good work 👍
Thanks Dan! I’ll keep on keepin’ on.
Best video I have found for this install. Nice job guys!
Thanks! Check out the discount code if you need to get one.
Is there something that can be installed in the channel to keep the water from pooling?
Looks great 👍😁
Thanks Dave.
Appreciate the added info on install made it super easy
I'm happy to hear that! It can be tricky so I wanted to show all the pitfalls.
Much love from Richland Washington Yakima river is one of the best rivers to fish in wa
I noticed you guys have a sunroof. Does yours tilt? If so, does the roof rack interfere with the tilt?
What year is the Rav 4? I’m not sure if I missed you saying it in the video. I have a 2022 I’d like to put a rack on
They there. This is for any 2019 and up Rav4. I believe Michael's was a 2019. Thanks!

@@krungle7640 What year and trim
Any leaks so far? And what type of paint did you use to prevent rust?
No leaks. But Michael applied extra silicone. We used automotive touch up paint.
So far, no leaks! But yes, I used extra silicone just to be safe and added flex tape over the mounting bolts as an extra measure to keep water away.
Much better than the Prinsu video
Looks great! What kind of loads can it handle vs. the stock rails. I didn't realize the stock rails were so flimsy!

@@JasonExplainsThings Plus it's gettin away from the Grandma look of the stock. Haha
Did you notice a change in your mpg on the rav4

I just did mine. Pay for shipping and they're all yours!
Is it possible to achieve the install without removing the door seals?
No, but that part isn't bad. They aren't glued in place. But... putting the interior parts back on (especially the A-Pillar trim that covers an air bag) are a little tricky.
Any noticeable change in mpg after the rack install?
No. I don't believe so. There will be a little bit of additional wind noise.

Michael had to lower the wind deflector down one notch because of that issue.
NO THANKS. about to get a rav4 BUT i am NOT about to DRILL into it.
You just widen 2 existing holes, but to each their own. 👍
