NBA2K24 Retired Player Number Workaround: Part 2

  • A little quicker way in Roster mode with the modern roster to get around the retired numbers for existing players. Not needed for Eras rosters and there are other workarounds in MyLeague. You have to name the generic player to the name of the guy with the retired number. You can use this to get around Bill Russell's retired number 6 for custom rosters. (EDIT - Make sure to assign the player to classic team that doesn't already have a player with the number you want to use...that may cause issues trying to change the number)

    man, this is bullshit that we have these restrictions... heck, even the myteam mode is able to do duplicate jersey numbers on the same team.

    I couldn't seem to get it to work with sabonis of the kings changing his number to 11

      I was able to do it. I assigned Sabonis to the 64-65 Lakers and switched his number to 11, moved a generic guy from that team to the Kings, changed his name to "Bob Davies" and then number to 11 and then imported Sabonis over him.

      In the appearance editor, go all the way down to "Chest" and then it's at the bottom of those options - "Body Shape"
