Great video on typical surveillance system install issues and how to resolve them. FYI - It's not necessary to install the NVR near the monitor and have to deal with all those camera cables coming through the wall. Install the NVR up to 50 ft. away and just use a single long HDMI cable to the monitor or use HDMI Extender box to extend the HDMI cable up to 300 ft. Reolink NVR software allows you to control the NVR without physically needing to touch the NVR buttons. I would alos like to mention that the Amazon Basic Wireless mouse works great with the Reolink NVR.
Very nice! I hope at some point they'll want an UPS for the NVR. I have mine on one and it will continue to record for another 30 minutes or so with 10 cameras.
Techs call me the cable nazi bcz I'm obsessed with them cleaning up their cable runs. I hate unorganized cables. I'm very happy with your setup 😂 you did a great job! 🎉
I enjoy a good clean cable run. Really depends on the environment though. Sometimes we needed our cables to be completely hidden but if it wasn't an absolute necessity I found it great to use raceways on some aspects. Great for troubleshooting.
I think that you should hide NVR somewhere to preserve video evidence, so thieves cant find it. It would be the first thig they would like to take with them, not because of its monetary value, but to take evidence with them. Behind a monitor that displays surveillance footage is a very obvious place to look for NVR. Hide it in kitchen cabinet, bethind washing machine or any other unusual place. My NVR has only one ethernet port, and I need to use separate switch to connect to internet and cameras. convenient to hide NVR, because only one Ethernet cable needs to be routed. It is not an issuer if you have real time-backup for all video footage. But most homeowners have SD cards in cameras(or cloud subscriptions), only some have NVR, very few might have real time backup for all footage. Then the next best thing would be to hide NVR as good as you can.
All houses should have metal studs as well and sprinkler system. And device makers should adapt to make their devices compatible with metal stud installation.
I would just use some kind of MDF board or something like that, mount the NVR and PSU on it then attach it to the wall, this will require only 2 holes. Reolink NVR software is the same as their Windows app?
there is some settings you can only change on the NVR, but once its set up, you can generally do everything you need to do from the windows or android apps.
Yes, you can do that too. Power has to be exposed out of the wall due to being a kit and has to follow code but you can just install the top outlet and hard wire it to your home.
I'm trying to hide my reolink nvr but the power cable is way too short. I didn't want to run it through the wall because I didn't know if it would be a fire hazard. Any recommendations for longer cable?
From what I have seen from other videos, crooks don't care of cams being present, they just wear their hoodies. most cams are up high so if they don't look up they are fine. We need some type of hidden in plain sight, cams looking up from the floor, we might be able to catch a glimpse of their eyes or hopefully they're not wearing a covering their face. What have ya got for us for that?
Its really nice to see real life situations very good video.
Thanks for watching!
the lockbox is a good idea in residential applications too. Basically your entire router should also be in a locked cabinet attached to the wall.

Thanks for the tip.
I love your contact. You are my inspiration. To get a reolink NVR system 🎉

Will most likely add it eventually. Thanks for watching!

Thank you.
Great video. A very clean install.
Thanks! 👍
DAAAAMMMNNN!!!...Very clean and neat install - 👍
Nice! Thanks for sharing.
Clean set up 👍🏻
Thanks! 👍
Could you not put the nvr pointing down the way reducing the network cable length on show
Not really because of all the cables behind the NVR, the straps will get in the way.
Great video, great channel! Keep it up!
Thank you very much!
Looks really nice!
Thanks
Clean! Nice job!
Thanks!
Awesome. Real nice👍
Well done. Another great Video
Glad you enjoyed it

Looks better good job. Be better using UPS power backup
Thank you.
Bang up job!👍👍

nice job well done 😉👍
Thanks 😁
Check building codes, some states prohibit data & electrical cables being ran through one gang box.
Can review the new Imilab EC6 dual outdoor security camera. Thanks
Hello
Mate I do like your videos I am your subscriber I have question can I use wyze V4 behind Window glass in night time???
I would just use some kind of MDF board or something like that, mount the NVR and PSU on it then attach it to the wall, this will require only 2 holes.

Would it be possible to hide the bottoms network cable and power cable. To prevent disconnection by any intruder.
Yes, you can do that too. Power has to be exposed out of the wall due to being a kit and has to follow code but you can just install the top outlet and hard wire it to your home.
Is there any way to backup Reolink to the cloud in case the NVR is stolen? It seems like only their LTE/4G cameras support cloud backup.
No cloud backup but you can set it to record to your own FTP server.
LMAO your wife is messing with you making you redo all this stuff. 😂
I know ;)

I’m not sure of your setup but you are right, you don’t want that cable go thru a wall. You most likely need to hardwire another outlet near it.
Any knowledge of any generic NVR that works with a Swann camera system?

You can always hide a camera and place it in lower level if that is what you want.
❤👍

My NVR is well hidden. The average burglar spends less than 10 minutes in the house. Not enough time to find it.
DVR safe is better.
You are really trying to reinvent the wheel. Nothing about this install is professional, so out dated. No wonder the CCTV industry is in the shits.
Luckily we have CCTV RX...your "prescription" to your security!
Lifehackster Clean setup. Do you know how much longer before you release a review on the cx810. Thanks
