@5:50 if you don't have a square/saw track just put in the 1st and last screws and snap a chalk line between them.
I like that Matt always has a slight smile on when filming his projects. I can tell he enjoys his work. BTE nice shed build, I wish I saw this years ago when I built mine in an over complicated and wasteful way.
I do enjoy it
This has been a great series. Who doesn’t want to build their own shed?
I can’t wait to make one for myself
I love the token assistance with 1 frame on this part 🤣😉 well done, its looking good
Thank you
This would have been a great excuse to get a drone.
Nice project, Matt! You're making great videos out of the whole build, maybe because filming outside gives you more opportunity to cinematographically make it all just work out better!
Thank you
Used the same EPDM roof Matt for my shed and it worked great. That contact adhesive absolutely stunk!
[3:51] Great to see Father Christmas offering a helping hand. Really good work Matthew, thanks for the must watch content.
Thank you Dean
Really fantastic work, Matt! 😃
The shed is looking better and better!
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Thank you very much
2:54, here's Johnny!😀 Excellent video, that membrane kit looks really decent.
Thank you
The rubber roof option is quite popular these days. Something I think I'll give a go.
I’m really pleased with it
Nice work Matt. That EPDM roof looked very easy to install and it’ll last forever (25-50 years I’ve seen quoted); much better than roofing felt.
I’ve installed four GRP fibreglass roofs (on sheds, a porch and a side extension), which have a similar quoted lifespan but were certainly a more lengthy job than EPDM
Very clear video, nicely done. It's always nice to see examples of the tools and process and you've got the balance spot on.
Thank you very much
This is looking really nice! And the filming of the project is excellent. Measuring the roof boards before putting the sides up is something I would not have thought of.
Thank you very much
Great work as always Matt, that really is a lovely location for filming.
Thank you. Yes it is a lovely area
Loving the series Matt. You seem to be enjoying yourself!!!! I look forward to the podcasts when they come out.
Thank you very much
Great job Matt on this big build!
So Matt, I noticed your rafters are only 4 x 2. Is snow not a problem in this area? Great job.
Hi Matt, Nice and neat job mate. I could tell you enjoyed the build. Onya mate !
Thank you Brian
Very neat looking finish to the roof. Nice series of videos :)
Thank you
Hi Matt, the shed is looking great, I look forward to the next ep6to se how the windows look, best regards from Australia.
Thank you Les
Really enjoying this series.
Thank you very much
Thanks for sharing! Great series!
Thank you
That is looking great.
Thank you
Great stuff - loving the quality of this series!
Thank you
Great video, thanks !!!
Thank you
Nice project
enjoyed the video and the series so far! Should the plastic trim have cover all the wood on the perimeter of the roof?
Hi could you please tell me what thickness osb your using for the roof
Thanks Gordon
Looks good Matt. I need a new roof on a garden building. Looks like an option….
I heard you talking on the pod about this roof, certainly looks as easy as you made it sound 👍🏻
It was very easy to do
Looking good dude, want to come do our garden room/ workshop extension 😜
Thank you. You would do a great job and it would make a great video
@@Badgerworkshop Haha cheers Matt, very kind of you to say but it’s just finding the time 🙈😂
great work Matt, thankyou for the inspiration and tips along the way. Been planning my workshop... was originally going to use 5x2 for the floor and roof and 4x2 for the walls, I note you have gone 4x2 for the floor/roof and 3x2 for the walls... I'm more than a little alarmed at the price of timber... is using the larger timber I was planning a bit overkill? can you advise, please. Many thanks indeed.
It really depends on how big the building will be. On something small like mine 3x2s are fine
@@Badgerworkshop thank you Matt i've scaled it back a little and probably settling on 10ft x 16ft
Brilliant stuff 👌
You make it look so simple!
Will you be kind enough to do a cost/time breakdown at the end of this project?
Thank you. I might do but I am not building this in one go
@@Badgerworkshop No rush!
I'm only 5'6" and my little arms won't stretch across an 8x4 board. You should have seen me trying to get the 18mm OSB onto the roof...
Sounds like you got it done in the end
Great video Matt👏 What is the adhesive brand ?
Thank you. I don’t know what it was
Enjoying the series. I wouldn't have bothered with the contact adhesive around the edge as the trims fixed in place around the edge which holds it in place. That's how Liam from oakwood garden rooms does it. Not that it really matters. Keep up the great work
Thank you
Hi, quick question... would you choose this over the preformed roof you used for your workshop at home?
Thanks
...still no comments about that "ex machina" hat 😉
rehearsal for the new workshop at home
It defiantly is
@@Badgerworkshop are you definitely sure ? or am i defiant ?
sorry definitely
Hi Matt, love this project, thanks for sharing it with us. The base in particular is of massive interest to me as I was resigned to a concrete slab for a similar project but now I think I'll use this plastic grid system in combination with the plastic feet you used on your workshop to get the floor slightly off the ground.
Quick question for you on the roof. Did you butt the OSB up against each other or did you leave an expansion gap (3mm or so)?
I did not leave a gap
@@Badgerworkshop Thanks Matt for replying. Was that deliberate? I've read conflicting reports on whether or not it's necessary.
@@martinshaw1988 I’m pretty sure Robin C does and he’s the boss. At worst I’d imagine some creaking in the warm sunshine?
Nooice!
Thank you
The hangers aren’t the right ones for what your doing and the ones you’ve put on are the wrong way round just to let you know
Both the joist hangers and the orientation they are used in here are perfectly legitimate uses of them
