Hello Doug, Thank you for this video as well as for all the others. I´m an Elvis fan for more than 30 years and for many years I was an Elvis-Impersonator, too. When I tried to learn the lyrics, it was always the same: You find it only in a clear normal English language. But I always thought “No that´s not the way Elvis is singing it, that not what I hear when Elvis sings it. His words sound different. Am I the only person who recognized that?” And now you are the first person that explains exactly what I always felt. Words like “onleh”,” cyant” or “fawlin”, that´s it, man. That´s how the King did it. You are not only one of the best impersonators but also an excellent listener and analyst if comes to the way Elvis sang a song. And that´s what distinguishes you from all the other guys who try to sound like Elvis … but do not. Great job. Greetings from Berlin in Germany.
The people saying he doesn't sound like Elvis, its only his pitch your hearing, if he had a deeper voice, (not saying it isn't good) it would be really similar.

That's great..never thought about how he pronounces words differently in this song because it's very subtle when you listen its Elvis singing delicately and beautifully. With something like Hound Dog its more obvious when he was singing "crying all the time" I was hearing it as "cracking all the time'. Not sure how crying becomes cracking LOL
All the people that say Doug can't sing or sound like Elvis etc, don't just judge on this video here, search for him on you tube doing live shows etc, and you will change your opinion. I have seen Doug live quite a few times in the U.K over the years, and he really is a tremendous singer and Elvis sound a like. His vocal range and power are superb, his humour on stage just like Elvis's etc. His voice has obviously changed slightly with age and it gets harder as you age to reach the really high notes that Elvis sang, don't forget Elvis passed away at age 42. But listen to some early shows of Doug here on you tube, and you will be blown away. It is scary at times how much he sounds like Elvis, and can do many other voices such as Willie Nelson, comedians, actors etc.

Damn perfec’ intonations . .definitely there are certain letters when spoken take on a slant of what’s being expressed, whether it’s in lyric form or used in a common language form. I like how you’ve used the word board to illustrate the stress he placed on sound and it’s function.. ..✨👍🏻

The teacher should also teach, how to grow in God's love in the name of Jesus. As in Elvis was God's love - like in this teacher, as I know. He must be a real believing Christian filled with the Holy Spirit in Jesus Christ

He does the vibrato and sings with the style, but the pitch and tone is still quite different
