Michael Jackson has been a very unheralded producer/arranger for his entire body of work. This Brownstone project was all his doing. He put the girls together in this power vocal ensemble for the ages. R&B owes that man a great deal of gratitude for writing amazing songs such as these.
facts like this are why I love discovering classics.
WOW....I never knew that all this time. Thank You for the insight.
I didn't have a clue! Wow
He's only credited for discovering the trio and signing them to his MJJ label. In regards to his involvement with their projects, he was executive producer. Otherwise, these ladies were the primary songwriters on their albums.
It 3 to do it... both are masters of music

The vocals are absolute FIRE and the track is still a serious BOP nearly 30 years later! 🤩 The 90's had so much quality stuff going on...didn't realise it but we were quite spoiled at the time. Wish I could go back and do it all again but, until someone invents a time machine, we have YT to relive the "good old days"?? haha

Me
No Brasil ❤️
Me. It is one of the best songs i have ever heard.
Me.
Me!
What makes me sad is this music was the backdrop of my childhood. Because it was always there, I took it for granted. Had no idea of the direction in which music would devolve, and I didn’t appreciate it until years later. I don’t think any of us knew how good we had it. The 90s was not just the zenith of R&B music, I think it was the zenith of America. We were on this upward trajectory, we weren’t mired down in any wars, and then boom, 9/11 broke us and sent us into a downward spiral. Music became more and more artificial, you have the rise of autotune and music stardom for people that can’t actually sing, and essentially the death of R&B. The 90s was our Golden Age.
Yup, that's what the historians will say a century from now. The 90's was it. Who would have known?
Sadly R&B has pretty much died in the US..but check out some of the British artists, they're trying their best to keep R&B alive.
You are so right I remember dancing to this song with my crush at my first "School dance" in the 8th grade. Jeeesh seems like long time ago but when I think about this song it brings me back a innocent time of life.
I swear when the song started I almost shed a tear thinking about how the 90s shaped my childhood and life. We the last of a dying breed
@@charliegone1652 there's actually a lot of good R&b singers in the USA that are lesser known. They're out there folks just don't support them while saying real music is dead. Real artists cant survive if yall don't support them lol
God this era is just unrivaled
This fills me with so much emotion. Takes me back to the 90s when I was in my early twenties and had a head full of hope, romance and promise. I am nearly 50 now. I miss the dreams only the young can have. I'm more grounded now, more confident, but I'll never forget that young woman and the music that fuelled her.
I feel baby girl .I was in my 20s just exploring life. Rnb and hip-hop was off the chain. We grwew up to grown men and women off of the music

Chris Leonard we French all grew up with the same mainstream Rnb stars. A few of us still listen the good old rnb and also the less popular US rnb. Yes the US rnb is still listened in France and Europe (i’m at the border France/Switzerland and Germany)
Bien ou bien Khalid ? On est vraiment né à la mauvaise époque
@Chris Leonard it used to be in 1990 2000 but not anymore. For old generations we keep listening to old school rnb but new generations know nothing about good music.
Nancy M malheureusement. A défaut d’être né à cette époque au moins on a ces sons dans nos playlist.
@Chris Leonard 90s R&B was a game for the initiated, you had to buy imported cds and vinyls. I saw Mary J. live in France a couple of years ago and you could tell the audience had grown up with her 90s sound. What a great era this was.
