Love watching chefs not trying to take a cooking style or background then try change it, a lot of the time the most purest form of an original dish is all the elevation it needs
I’ve been fortunate to eat at laser wolf (Philly) and it really is that good. Also a nice way to get similar food to Zahav that’s a bit more affordable/accessible.
I love it! I wish here where I live was such a beautiful and honest restaurant. Such beauty in simplicity, respect and honesty to the food and cuisine. Keep up the nice work!
very nice cooking, keep it honest, simple and delicious. no fancy nonsense or tons of garniture. and the grill statement from the beginning sums it up pretty good: ".. used grills for about 20k but now we juste use bricks from home depot and charcocal." nice. use them brains, most of the expensive stuff they tell you you need is just.. well.. expensive stuff. doesnt mean that its better in any way, quite the opposite in fact. if u think about it, that applies to pretty much everything society wants you to buy
Laser Wolf is a name. It's Yiddish. Lazer is the Yiddish pronunciation of the Hebrew name, Eliezer. Wolf (or Volf, in Yiddish) is the Yiddish version of the Hebrew name, Ze'ev, which means "wolf" (one of a few animal names in Hebrew).
damn it's similar to asian cuisines just missing some ingredients. the beef and fish is good for sure just by the listed ingredients and marinades. because it's what i used too with a little dash of Fish sauce and fresh lemon grass stalks.
@@postinginthepraire1416 Lmao Mizrahi Jews brought kebabs with them to Israel after the Arabs kicked them out, no need to show to respect to themwhen it was a part of ours, and a part of other cultures outside of the Levant and Arab world.
Yes. Israeli cuisine is a very interesting mix of traditional, international-Jewish cuisine, traditional food from Arab countries where many Jews came from, and kosher dietary restrictions. It's a really interesting and delicious cuisine!
They are using the terms incorrectly. Intermuscular fat is the fat between the lean. This is the seam fat or fat cap. Intramuscular fat is fat that is inside the lean. This is the marbling.
Do you really think grilled skewered herbed meat is a unique food? In Portugal it’s ‘Espetada’, in Spain ‘Pinchos’, in SE Asia ‘Satay’, in Russia ‘Shashlik’, in Italy ‘Spiedini’, in Africa ‘Suya’, in Japan ‘Yakitori’, in Greece ‘Souvlaki’, in Peru ‘Antichucho’
@@ethanarch absolutely agreed! just saying it’s an interesting choice given the spicing and the region that Israel exists in. Especially as having been to Bulgaria, most kebapche aren’t really herbed in the same way - more just pepper and cumin at most.

It’s all about evolution everything has a background.
I was very disappointed to find out that Laser Wolf is the name of the restaurant, not the chef.
agreed what an awful name
@@xaza8uhitra4 laser wolf is an actual Jewish name
☹️
I'm disappointed Star Fox isn't the mascot and Nintendo isn't a proud sponsor
Lazar Wolf was the name of the butcher in the musical "Fiddler on the Roof." This is obviously a play on that name.
It is very obvious that they put a lot of thought and love into everything they do. True artists. Definitely will be visiting soon. Thanks Eater!

" if you just look for the smoke. You know someone is cooking." A chef and a scholar.
lol
if you look closely you can see they forgot to remove the sticker badge on the eggplant on the grill at 6:35 :D
It’s edible and it will burn off with the skin
Attention to detail... it'll be the downfall every time
Everything looks so amazing. That fish looks bomb as well
Can never go wrong with authentic food 😋
These people may very well be the only reason that I would enter NYC
Amazing chefs. Would love to visit if I get a chance

it's inspiring there, i went in april. new york is where every corner of the world collides!

The fact that this is named Lazer Wolf after Fiddler On The Roof is the reason I have to come here.
Did anyone else who first clicked on the video think the guy's name was actually "Laser Wolf"?
The name is taken from a character in Fiddler on the Roof, the butcher who was named Lazar Wolfe.

Except for the fact that Laser Wolf was started in Philly and the NYC location was the second one, so not sure how it was perfected in NYC

There’s a beer bar in Fort Lauderdale that has used the name Laser Wolf for a very long time.
That makes sense, the name is taken from a character in Fiddler on the Roof, the butcher who was named Lazar Wolfe.

No mention that this is all Philly based and has nothing to do with NYC. Just a satellite location.

Pro tip, don't have to wash the grinder everytime. Just remove the attachment, cling wrap and pop it back into the freezer ready for next use.
