Hello, could you explain, how can I test pulse output? Is that possible by fluke 1587? If yes, please explain me. Thanks in advance!

    Hello dear,
We had replaced promag w 400 with promag 400 we configured all parameters copy from old but it's showing hlaf of the reading, mean it should show 180 but it's showing 90 only anybody can explain what is the reasons
    Thanks

Can I set up output current 4-20mA to transmit process density ? If it is possible where can I set up maximum value of density (in eng. units) that corresponds to 20mA out signal ?

From the Endress+Hauser Tech Support team: “You can certainly output process density over a 4-20 mA output, but only on our coriolis meters (Promass). In order to configure this you will need to go into the Current Output menu and assign the output to Density. You will then be able to program the corresponding 4-20 mA values for density.”

Could you to explain, how to calculate Mass flow rate, by acquiring pulses as Output? how to get to know the pulse per sec?

Coriolis mass flowmeters have outputs. One is the mass flowrate e.g. 100kg/hr and the second is the pulse output. The value per pulse is configured according max flowrate of the instrument. For example a range of 2000kg/h would allow to configure a pulse value of 1kg/pulse. When operated at such flowrate the flowmeter emits 2000 pulses per hour, each with a value of 1kg - for external totalization. As 1hr = 3600s, every 1.8s a pulse is generated. When flowrate drops to lower values, so does pulserate pro rata.

Thanks a lot for the expalination.
But, while configuring the Massflow rate as Pulse output. The information available are Pulsevalue: 1kg/hr and Pulse width: 100ms.
How can I get the info about Maximum flowrate of the device, while configuring the Massflow rate as Pulse output.
If I set the Massflow rate as frequency, then I get the info such as, highest frequency is 10khz and lowest is 0Hz and Highest massflow rate is 3600kg/h and lowest is 0kg/h.
My doubt is regarding calculation, with the pulse info as mention, if I acquired the pulse signal how to convert them to Massflow rate??

The (physical) Maximum flowrate depends on the sensor size and the process data. It is the outcome of a sizing with our online tool Applicator/Sizing Flow. Customer orders a flowmeter with a pre-configured measuring range according his application and assigns e.g. 0...2000kg/h to the 4-20mA output. So, 4mA = 0kg/h, 20mA = 2000kg/h. Using additionally the frequency output the same (or any other) is done. For example 0Hz = 0kg/h 10kHz = 1800kg/h. Frequency output as well as 4-20mA ouput show actual mass flowrate. Pulse output - same as internal totalizer - is integrating the mass flowrate over time. So, if 1kg of fluid has passed the flowmeter one pulse is emitted at the pulse output terminal and the internal totalizer is incremented. Of course pulse value (in this example 1kg/pulse) can be different from internal totalizer. So, the actual mass flowrate is always present on the display, the current output or as process variable accessible via digital communication.
A good option to become familiar with the operation and configuration of a flowmeter is using the Demo-software for Proline flowmeters. Please contact your local Endress+Hauser sales office and ask for it
