- Roku was meant to have his one on one today but my friend decided to distract Pabu.
Nothing exciting in this video just a relaxing day, Please know that we knew the person with the dog, Roku was just playing. Please don’t assume the worst, simply ask questions to get the answers :)

I love this. Most people just lock birds in a cage and that's it. If I had birds I'd do this, let them fly around whenever they want.
well it takes time to train a bird and if you do let them out when trained they may not come back because its a new area
I much appreciate you make gym to your parrots. It is marvelous to see these "free" flight. I have 8 budgies and leave Free flight into home at last one time a day.

Wow I’m amazed they came back. I mean i don’t have a pet bird so i guess i just assumes they would fly away and not come back. Either way they are so pretty.

ScatteredTruth i dont know id be so scared and nervous whole time. I have a conure he flies inside we do flight exercises but a hawk or eagle would eye him as a easy meal. Hes part of the fam. I wouldn't be able to ever do free flight outside like that.

Do they ever land on strangers or interact with strangers? I would be so tempted to run away with them for snuggle time before returning them. But I don't run very fast so its ok. It's only technically stealing if you can run fast.
haha Pabu will sometimes but not Roku and Korra. A stranger won't be able to hold them without blood being drawn, someone tried touching Korra once and I told the guy x5 times dont do it she will seriously hurt you, every time I walked away I knew he was trying.
Next minute he has a chunk of his hand taken out and lots of blood, I just shook my head and he walked away. If x5 direct warnings from me and several from other free flight owners is not enough to get the message then you deserve to have blood drawn lol

yeah unfortunately it would, which is why its crucial to never compare pet indoor parrots to wild or free flight parrots as they are drastically different. Comparing them is like comparing the skills of a bartender and pilot :)

With enough trust I'd be confidant they wouldn't fly off, but then I'd be worried they would crash into a pole or get eaten by wild animals....
this is why I include the link to the website with facts and explanation on successful free flight to put these notions of it being based on "trust" or "recall" put to an end. I 100% see why people would think that but their is a specific a simple scientific explanation on why success occurs and why bad situations occur.
A bird flying into a pole or easily getting eaten for example is not a bird that should be out free flying, thats like saying what happens if a new pilot student crashes a plane that was well above their experience and training? well that would be the direct result of not having the skill base and brain development. All explained in detail in the link in both video description and pinned post :) I make them big bold and capital letters to try and grab peoples attention.

I may be new to this whole "letting your bird fly freely without it running away". Seeing these kinds of pets roam the open areas, especially birds, and to return to their owners is really amazing and is a testament to the mutual trust between pet and owner. Thanks for the video!
