  • The L2 and DeFi discussions concerning Bitcoin are perhaps some of the most important ones when determining the future of Bitcoin. It is clear Bitcoin will not be able to scale into the future, regardless of how much robust innovation we add to it through metaprotocol design.
However, ecosystem contributors such as Sovryn are working diligently to implement some of the cutting-edge in Bitcoin scaling technologies to create favorable environments for development. We discuss with a core contributor to Sovryn, Edan Yago, the technical challenges in rolling out this type of infrastructure and break down the comparisons between existing side chains to Bitcoin which do not consider the same trust-minimizing components.
The conversation explores many interesting facets to Bitcoin development and considers the reality of Bitcoin entering into a phase shift that renders all other chains redundant as Bitcoin infinite scalability becomes a reality as rollup technology becomes solidified.

SOV token is only $2 now. I acquire my first SOV at $22 back in 2021 because I believed in this project’s vision back at that time and still think that their vision is the one that will dominate the crypto sphere. For those who don’t know yet, but the day you will use the Sovryn dollar (DLLR),you will realize how powerful this project is. You can be your own Central bank!!! That’s just crazy and so powerful. I don’t know how high SOV will go, but time will show how powerful this project is and what they will bring to Bitcoin blockchain.

hmm I wonder if there is something that already exists and can fulfill what you say to the fullest.
you can be your own bank, central bank, monetary issuer & auditor of that monetary policy just by having bitcoin.
I highly doubt that SOV can fulfill all of those things

Cut to the chase boys? Who is the winner? Stacks, Merlin, BVM, Sovryn, Mint Layer? Had to edit. Posted the former too early. Go to 57:24 Thanks Block Runner Chads. Great show.

I think I heard Yago mention on Scott Melker podcast he could do a regular segment evaluating legit BTC L2s. Will look out for that! So far it's Sovryn for me.

I like Mint layer for a BTC L 2 it’s fast secure and acts as a side chain not clogging up BTC. However it allows for everything defi on BTC without wrapped tokens.

You guys could bring the developers of OP_CAT to discuss their new BIP 420 proposal to implement second layers, defi, etc, to Bitcoin. that would be really nice. Keep the great work, such a fantastic interview!

Hey guys, What's your take on runes so far?...This weekend I've been closely monitoring the buzz around runes. It seems like the market for runes is rapidly becoming flooded, especially with names over 13 characters. I anticipate this issue will only grow as shorter names become possible to etch. It will become a sht coin protocol, lol. Personally, I believe the ordinal community holds more value, and it could become even more significant if the developers managing the protocol implement enhancements that reignite the excitement we saw with the initial surge in interest for runes

I think they're too new in the space. Not enough data for me to "place a bet". While FTX and Celcius were imploding last cylcle, Sovryn was building TRUE DeFi protocols. IMHO

@@ronsuarez385 Cheers, I saw something online about them gearing up for RWA in Saudi? BTC L2 and RWA could be two massive plays this cycle. A project doing both could be would a couple quid?
