A word that I have been unsure about is "tijdstip". Is it pronounced tijd-stip or tijds-tip?
There are words with which I guessed wrong about the pronunciation when I saw them written, then eventually heard the correct pronunciation, such as volledig and bedelen.

It's tijd-stip! Quite literally it means "point of time". Don't worry, as the video shows there are rules, but it's also a matter of experience and getting the 'feeling'. You will improve with time :)

I'm not sure how that would make any difference when it comes to pronouncing the word. Both tijds-tip and tijd-stip end in a closed syllable meaning a short "i".

4:14 Ondertiteling: er 'is' een aantal ipv van 'zijn'. De vervoeging 'is' slaat op het woord 'aantal' (enkelvoud) en niet op het woord 'regels' (meervoud). Tegenwoordig worden beide vormen goedgekeurd maar 'aantal' is grammaticaal enkelvoud. Hetzelfde geldt bijvoorbeeld ook voor de woorden 'serie' of 'hoeveelheid': er staat een hoeveelheid boeken in de kast. Hier slaat de vervoeging op het woord 'hoeveelheid' en niet op het woord 'boeken'. Dit dus even tussendoor.
