Loved this episode. AS someone who is just starting out In the side hustle universe, I found the transparent and detailed recounting of your side hustle journey both honest and refreshing. Thank you for giving us the unvarnished, real-world version of how it was done. I'd be very interested in any more "depth" you care to share about these various income channels. Thanks for your wit and genuineness.

Hi Katie, Great post! Any chance Anna (your email marketing guru) is taking on more clients? If so, I’d love to connect with her!

I love your transparency here! Pretty rare in the PF community. Did you have another blog where you were writing about money or for work? Reading your blog now and it says you've been writing since 2018. Was 2020 the time you took it seriously from just a hobby or you rebranded and tried another strategy with your messaging?

Hi Ainjel! I had a previous blog that made $0 lol, so yes in 2020 I really buckled down on Money with Katie as a brand specifically. Thank you for the kind words!

Golden! Thanks for posting this, Katie. Curious...did the Morning Brew seek you out, or did you pitch your blog to them?

Crazy that those affiliate programs paid so much for a blog that never really got more than 2-3k visits per month. Goes to show the money niche pays, I guess.

Yes! SEO was a game-changer for the particular topics they were interested in.

@@MoneywithKatie I can't remember if it was mentioned in the video, but were they affiliates for credit card programs? I'm just getting into the affiliate game myself because I'd need 100x more traffic to even make dollars on AdSense.

@@brotendo Yes that's a huge source for me personally!

Loved it!! How long were you blogging before you incorporated socials w the brand? Also, when did the podcast come in? Curious as to the use of squarespace vs Wordpress for blogging. I love squarespace and use it for my main gig.

Thank you for sharing Katie! For the emails you were sending out, did you send out links to your blog posts? What kind of content did you share with your audience to make it useful? When I think about email marketing I can only remember emails like “LAST CHANCE!” and those aren’t useful at all.

Thanks for sharing the details and the numbers. Not just the dollars but the subscriber and follower count. Too many content providers even when they talk about these things mention percentages but not the raw numbers. I'd love to know what you sold the company for but I understand if you can't do that. As someone who's been a business owner for over 40 years it's always fun to see the details of other people's businesses. Thanks.

What program is giving you the sound/speech waves for this video?

Hi Bruce! The speech waves were made in After Effects.
