  • Travel video about destination South-Korea.
    South Korea is a land of ancient tradition and contemporary life, a fascinating world…with five thousand years of history. Seoul is the country’s economic and cultural centre, a metropolis of twelve million inhabitants who are proud of their ancient culture. The War Museum is a reminder of the Forgotten War when the United States of America and twenty other countries took part in a United Nations military operation to support South Korea against the forces North Korea and China. Thirty kilometres south of Seoul is the fortress town of Suwon where at the end of the eighteenth century the Hwaseong Fortress was built, now a World Heritage Sight. South Korea’s most famous monastery is located in the Gaya-San National Park. Today the complex and its ninety buildings have become one of the main Buddhist centres in the East.. Tumuli Park is situated in the centre of Kyong Ju, former capital of the Silla Kingdom and contains twenty three royal tombs that look from the outside like large green hills. A huge number of valuable finds were made here thus the National Museum was created in which more than a hundred and fifty thousand exhibits from prehistoric times right up to the Joseon Dynasty are on display. Jeju island is a unique holiday paradise, a volcanic island with temples, waterfalls, tea plantations and several leisure facilities. For Koreans as well as the Japanese, Jeju Island has, due to its tropical climate, become a very popular honeymoon destination. When during dinner a volcano erupts and laser gods battle against each other, the Korean people are reminded of the fact that they have withstood invasion by the Mongols, Chinese and Japanese. At the climax of the show a fiery dragon appears: his sole task to protect glorious South Korea!

      is South korea a Christian dominant or buddhist country.

    • @ksb9469
      @ksb9469 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +dorjee bhutia Predominantly Christian in modern days. In old days Christianity was new, which is why temples we see are many years old.

    • @user-rk5ob8jp6j
      @user-rk5ob8jp6j 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +SK Angel Not exactly. About 47% of South Korean don't have any religion. According to KOSTAT, only about 30% of South Korean are christian, including Catholic(11%) and Protestants(18%), and about 22% are budhists. Though the last census was on 2005, there might not be a significant difference now. Thus South Korea is neither a Christian dominant nor budhist donminant country.

    • @ksb9469
      @ksb9469 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      There has been tremendous amount of change in the past decade or so. You CAN’T look at and rely on the 11 year old statistics. South Korea is pretty much on the top in terms of producing missionaries, number of churches per capita, etc. I am not making up or exaggerating.

    A well-known Japanese climber, Ken Noguchi visited Korea in 2014. He took a taxi. The taxi driver asked if he was Japanese. He said "Yes" and then the driver ordered him to immediately get off the car, but asked him to pay the charge. In Pusan, he tried to enter into a sauna shop. Knowing that he was from Japan, the shop would not let him in. Can you believe that these happened in a democratic country? He doubts if any Japanese feels like going to Korea because of the inconceivable discrimination against Japanese.

    • @mangnanyong623
      @mangnanyong623 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry dude, but I will have to say that those kind of things happen in Japan too. Actually, discrimination against minor ethnic group and foreigner always exists in every single country. I feel sorry for Noguchi, and I personally believe racism in Korea is big problem. But come on dude, racism in Japan is also a big problem. If you don't believe, please, please take some time and search for it. I believe Japanese people should have more interests in those kind of problems which happens in Japan, simply say, in politics. Its a severe problem in Korea as the voting rate is too low, but in Japan, its even lower. Its serious problem dude in 'democratic country' you know.

      Politics aside, I posted above to give a kind of friendly warning to Korean people involved in tourism. As you know, Japanese peoples, generally speaking, try to stay clam in public place when anything wrong happens against them, but once they are disappointed , they will never come back. Japanese tourists are seeking for authentic taste of tour nowadays. Unlike your new customer Chinese tourists, Japanese people are quite conservative and don't spend too much money. They are thirsty but more sensitive.

    • @mangnanyong623
      @mangnanyong623 8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +toshitoshyWell, putting aside that no one would think your first comment was meant to ba a "king of friendly warning", I am sorry to say that your reply disgusts me even more than pure cursing words. I don't know if its common and usual thing to discriminate people from their wealth in Japan, but we don't prefer a group of people according to the amount of money they will spend, or at least believe its bad thing to do so. Dicriminating poeple from their nationality is always bad, well, there is no good discrimination actually, but it is nothing to do with econmoy. It would have felt logical if you said we shouldn't discriminate people from their nationality because of morality, but it is nonsense to say its because of money. Following you logic, is it ok to discriminate African as they only constitute small part of tourism industry? NO. It is just impossibe as you might know.Also, you said "Japanese peoples, generally speaking, try to stay clam in public place when anything wrong happens against them, but once they are disappointed , they will never come back". I don't know why you are so proud of your 'honne and tatemae' culture. Authentic taste? Thirsty but sensitive? Lol, I would rather discribe it as 'hypocrisy and bearing grudge'. I am not saying you should just forget about your irrational experience. Let me give you a "queen of friendly warning". Whenever you are getting criticized, don't avoid it, even it you feel it irrational. Face it, discuss it, and think about it. Its ok if you still think you are right, but you should at least consider the reason why you get the criticism first of all. I said 'politics' for this reason. Politics is always related wiht social problem, and is not far from our normal life. In democratic country, you shouldn't put politics aside, as it is giving up living as a democratic citizen.

    • @toshitoshy
      @toshitoshy 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +김민영
      A long comment makes me feel disgusting. Make it short. And I revise my comment to read "A kind of friendly warning.." instead of "A king of ...". My typo.

    • @mangnanyong623
      @mangnanyong623 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want to make a criticism, do it correctly. I said you should face it, and I don't think your English capability is enough to read my comment. It will only take few minutes. If you want to say my comment disgust you for its content, its ok, if there is a good reason for that. But dude you don't like my comment just because you don't want to read it, I can't accept it.
