“You’re a great choreographer... but as a boyfriend... you kinda suck” (BEST FUCKING LINE OF THE MOVIE)
🎯
but he wasnt her boyfriend, he just banged her and ignored her
That scene gave me “You’re a great cheerleader Aaron. Maybe you’re just not boyfriend material. Buh bye👋🏽” vibes. 😂😂
Exactly that comes to mind😂👍
Yes my favourite too.
I DANCED THIS CHROREOGRAPHY 20 YEARS AGO IN A DANCE CONTEST, WE WON THE 3RD, NOW IM IN A WHEELCHAIR AND THIS VIDEO MAKE ME SMILE AND I REMEMBER THE SENSATION ON STAGE. TKS
❤❤❤
😘
💕💖💕💖💖
Congratulations !! Yes the choreography looks about 2-3 decades old but back in 2000 this was considered amazingm.and kts still amazing choreography just outdated but the fact that you were so young dancing choreography meant (and danced for professional seasoned dancers which they all were, the 2 movie leads Ethan Stiefal and Amanda Schull had been dancing since childhood and Ethan still.is a Dancer at the ABT) Anyways the fact that you were so young and could do that choreography successfully and won 🏆 is BAD ASS!!! Eternal Bragging Rights for you, girlfriend and I mean that sincerely 💜
Now that’s truly Rockin’ N Rollin’
Stay greasy, Hot Wheels.
The actual fact that Jodie walked in out of nowhere day one in this jazz class and KILLED the choreography is what made me want to be a dancer. I am sad to report that my first ever jazz class did not end up with me nailing the entire dance.
Feel perfectly normal and justified.
This was a movie, of course it was choreographed.
I doubt anyone walks into a dance class first up and nails it.😁 but if this scene inspired you, that’s fantastic, dance to your own beat, whatever makes you happy.
AND she was in the front row!
@@blacksorrento4719 it's actually possible, some dancers have a very good memory
@@itzelmartindelcampo5890
This is true, I am dancer myself, perhaps I should have said, “ very few people walk “
We had to get it pretty fast, or we wouldn’t last. 😊
@@blacksorrento4719 exactly, I'm a dancer too and I learn new choreographies almost everyday
They don't make movies like this anymore😔
Stradivarius
I agree 🙁
Thats y i watch all the old movies on netflix every chance i get.
"FORGET THE STEPS! Just dance the shit out of it!"
*proceeds to do perfectly choreographed dance number
Actually, there were mistakes (don't know if they were real, or for the movie, but mistakes nonetheless).
😂😂😂😂Yes...
It was clear that they were just having fun. Any professional/long-time dancer can memorize choreography after just watching the steps once or twice so I assume everyone except "Jody" already knew them and considering her training and raw talent, it wouldn't be that hard to pick up
Lol someone’s not a dancer. She means go full out and have fun with the choreo
also love how she’s never been in the dance studio, but yet knows all the moves 😂😂
Never will I be able to listen to this song and not think of this scene
DAR1776 i hear this song and think power rangers
Which IS the song?
@@user-vd3pp3pm8n higher ground - red hot chili peppers
I always smack myself 😂
@@cbelow7755 Me too!
This movie makes me miss dancing more than I ever have. There’s no feeling like being at a workshop or a class & knocking the shit out of a routine you just learned, especially a fun one.
Edna Lauren Wisdom you stop dancing?
Ruby HChau yes
Edna Lauren Wisdom may i ask why? I just start recently...though im the oldest in my class :)
Ruby HChau my family didn’t think it was a real career & once I graduated college I had too much going on & now I’m about to have a baby & too far gone to even try. Id have to get back in shape for dance specifically as far as training & conditioning.
Edna Lauren Wisdom i totally understand. My mom didnt want me to persuade dancing as a real career as well. Thats why until now that i can start taking classes with the money i earn from this job i dont enjoy. I love dancing since i was 18, which was late already, and now Im 30. Oh, and i think, if u still enjoy dancing, u can dance to get your body shape back. I think it would be a waste of time to wait for decent shape for dance :D
one of my favourite scenes in a movie ever, makes me smile and wanna dance every time :)
Me too
ABSOLUTELY YES!!!!!!!!!
i watch this scene religiously at LEAST once a week
The dude with the red bandana & white stripe (black pants) is fantastic!!!!!!
Nothing sexier than a man who can dance
Caitlin Brewer I couldn't agree more 😉😉😉😂😘
I prefer cooking LOL.
That, and a man who loves animals. ;)
Im a dancer lol
Caitlin Brewer True but men Ballet Dancers are a turn off
The hardest part of dancing for me (well, aside from the whole being flexible and coordinated this) is just *remembering* all the steps and picking up on them quickly, like the women do in this scene. It takes a special kind of talent. It really does take brains as well as physicality.
They remember the moves like a musician remembers musical notes. It becomes second nature.
I never noticed this before but the guys’ get to dance for twice as long as the girls, they actually get a whole extra verse in the song...
Over 20yrs later and I still remember the dance moves......FAVORITE 90S DANCE MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It came out the year 2000
That choreography is so cool! I never get tired of watching it. What disappoints me is what happens next in the story. 😒
Well I can tell you from experience sometimes you have to learn a routine in a day. If you've been dancing long enough, it gets easier to do depending on the routine.
Yep... especially at workshops, it's sink or swim, lol!
you get a whole day? ahahaaaaa!!!
Same for being a musician. Once you know your scales well enough you can play pretty much anything and quickly.
For me, that's a superpower. I can't even imagine how they memorize a whole dance routine.
In a day? Classes are usually an hour and you learn a whole dance
LOL. She attends her very first class and she takes front row center position. And she magically knows all the moves ahead of time. Movie magic indeed!
My all time favourite dance movie.Totally fell inlove with Zoe Saldana.
I tried to buy The Turning Point (Shirley McLane/Anne Bancroft) but it's NO LONGER IN PRINT!!! WTH? Watch that one if you can.
This choreography is still so fresh
My favourite scene in the movie, though you've got to wonder how she knew all the steps. This was her first time there and she put herself at the front.
Adele Weiss Crazily she probably did learn it that day. I just started watching dance classes by choreographers on youtube, and the dancers learn waaaay more complex routines than this and KILL it. And they're definitely learning them in shorter than an hour.
I'm sure you're right but, if you watch, they never go through the steps at all before they start dancing, as it's one they do every week. It's not as if she learned it from the guys' routine either, because they do different steps. No matter - it's just a movie and the scene is great, if not believable.
That's basically how an advanced or even intermediate casual class goes. There's an expectation everyone is at a certain level of skill and experience. Auditions are worse, you get maybe 15 minutes to learn a short routine. I'd say just as much as technique, that's the virtue of training for so many years. You obtain skills and powers of quick retention. In a class you do some warm ups, corner work, then learn the routine and away we go, just like this.
Meh, it's possible... With a group of experienced dancers, not hard to learn a combination/routine of this length in one class...
This type of routine is cake for pro dancers. What's way LESS realistic is the instructor calling out "five, six, seven, eight," multiple times! Instructors would only do that in a beginner class, to help students stay on the music.
Love her..."Just dance the SHIT out of it!!"... Sounds like something I would have said when I was still teaching dance, lol!
Best film ever..watched it 100 times or more...ok guilty pleasure...😜
I can watch this over and over these guys know how to dance!
This is my FAVOURITE movie!!!
My all time favorite movie. I'd give anything to have my legs back and dance one more time. Dancing is what made me very happy and feel free.
I remember watching this when I was younger and my small pea brain was thinking "what the hell are these dance moves?" Now that I'm older and have seen the current dance trends I'm still like "what the hell are these dance moves?!"
Iraia Tapine this comment made me laugh 😆 but like seriously...what the hell is that 😶
I love this movie, watch every single day.
Ethan Stiefel is sooo beautiful, as so that the guy that talks with him...
I love this movie and this scene
I was so disappointed that I couldn't find a dance class with this style of dance with this style of music lol.
so great!
My favourite scene in the movie, thank you so much for this video!
Not wanting to belittle the Red Hot Chili Peppers band but we can't fail to mention that this amazing song, Higher Ground is by the Wonderful Steve Wonder recorded in 1973. When a song is good it is never forgotten.
God I love this movie!!! Plus Ethan and Sascha!!
Love this movie
Exelente grupo coordinado. Felicitaciones

I'm a gay young man, and I love this part of this movie!
My favorite movie also!!
I love Ethan Stiefel !!!
He's attractive but I actually think the guy in the blue shirt and headband at 1:51 is cuter.
As a reviewer that I had viewed this program movie which is very good and it deals with the performing arts community iy packs allot of performance dance and music . And yet it has the qualities that fame had was centered around the performing arts and it has the many diversities that the program called Fame had which was a very good long running program .
Amo las piruets de al final 😍
Broadway Dance Center offered an online choreography class recently for this song.
Good movie 🍿
Buen vídeo.
I love this movie. saw Zoe in restaurant told her , she was lovely n beautiful
When you realise that the blonde girl is Katrina from Suits

Omg I remembered watching this for the 1st time and wanting to nail it on the 1st try hahaha #epicfailed 😭
This just came to my mind after watching Stevie Wonder and Chris Stapleton perform "Higher Ground" together at the Grammys tonight

This movies is my jones.i know it inside out and upsidedown...if your a dancer at heart play it if you had a hard day..cuz we all do...just dance.
I love this movie the best cooper is hot 🔥
Jodie Sawyer
Wow
I just did a workshop yesterday and the choreography was very similar...different music...but the steps, the free style, all the same...so dissing this clip with comments about the "style" of the work being dated is just sour grapes.
seen that movie
Use to rip a dance put like this in pineapple studios in London street class in the early 2000. Great energy class back in the dsy.
I Loooooove!!! 😍💖🌼🎶🎺🌈🌞💜💛😂🙌💃💃💃
PS The Teacher is Awesome and Sassy!!Yeah ! LoL!
Still wondering how to find myself in a studio like this and just "know"the choreography perfectly....
I think there's time elapsed between the warmup number and this dance. They must spend the class learning the number off-camera. They must.
Lml these dance moves lml
Man I don't know who most of these background dancers are... but they are my favorite dancers. Have been since I was a teenager.
Exhilarating
Ethan Stiefel ♥️
I dance too 2 or there time week I got own moves just try stay in shape
Wish I could dance like this
Marketing the exercise that makes women stay healthy .
to be a young dancer again 🩰
Wow wow wowwwwww👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Anyone else always feel for the backing dancers, who may well be as good - or even better dancers than the stars but who for one reason or other have not hit the heights?
They have an entire musical dedicated to them called A Chorus Line.
I love this movie.
What dance style is it?
Jazz
bad ass dancing dayum
I wish I could be as cool and as flexible as those people.
what kind of dance style would this be?
Only just realised that there's a woman dancing in heels. My christ, I fall trying do this barefoot!!
