Overall Secret Wars was probably the best event marvel has done in awhile. Even though I did actually like events like Axis, and Cataclysm Ultimates last stand this seems like Marvel had finally delivered an epic story these events should be.

I mean, c'mon.. civil war 2 with Sam as cap? maybe that's Peter Parker in the iron suit. 🤷🏽♂️🤣 I literally pictured how this whole comic would be in film form. it's wild, I'd wait another 3 phases for some epic ass movie that would probably be like FOUR hours long that time around 😂 BUT who knows g 🤷🏽♂️

In a sense i agree with that opinion. Although in my opinion his intentions when gaining the beyonders powers were not heroic nor was his actions after achieving god hood. He used molecule man and was sort of an egotistical asshole. Victor is exactly what marvel needed for a secret wars ruler he is a person who do anything to achieve godhood with out restraint or a moral code. p.s. poor pheonix force scott

100 % agree. If Doom did not do what he did, there would be nothing. It is easy to come later and improve on something another built. Doom created order and held back all the truely bad things behind the wall. He made the hard choices. Richards comes after.

What do I think? I think I have lived through Secret Wars 1, (the best one), 1986's New Universe and now Secret Wars 2. Personally, I believe Secret Wars 2 is a combination of these first two events. Another attempt by Marvel to free itself from it's ancient history so they create new contemporary heroes and more realistic stories that speak to the current generation and future generations.
Ironically the sales are down and the quality of the writing post Secret Wars has been garbage from what I can tell.
Can you summarize the first two?
I know the first was about my boy Owen and Beyonder. But what is the second one about? Or maybe I have them mixed up?

It was apparent that Marvel did not wish to wait to usher out its new titles until SW II was concluded. That series - a masterpiece in my eyes - deserved a few more books to more richly detail the story. They had some inexcusable plot holes that, with time, were going to be addressed but Marvel said, nah, wrap that shit up, HIckman, Esad, and Ive. Like.....Thanos is sent beyond the barrier wall.....we're like fuck yeah, this is gonna be awesome...but instead we see him in jail an issue later and never even get to witness him taking control of the Annihilus hordes. =(

something this big HAS been done before. check out the original Secret Wars from the 80's. Heroes and Villains from across the MU suddenly vanished one month without warning or explanation! We were all baffled!! I loved it! its where Spidey first meets the entity that becomes Venom! Would you believe he gets him from a costume vending machine!!! Secret Wars II also rocked! It's why Susan Storm changed her name from Invisible Girl to Invisible Woman via Malice! Nuff said!!!

Well I find it funny that tchala can control the dead considering he was getting eaten piece by piece by zombie giant man in marvel zombies so that's weird he never used his control over the dead......i hate super perfect reed Richards, once again in marvel zombies reed Richards snaps and infects the other 3 members of the fantastic 4, doom protects his country from the zombie apocalypse with help from Ashley Adams(aod) and when doom is infected he doesn't try to eat ash he lets him go as a thank you for saving his people. So reed Richards is not the ultimate good guy
Well the 616 Reed is considered to be the one the only Reed Richard in the multiverse who didn't turn evil, go crazy, left his family or his team and never come back or forget the man he once was.

This is the first time T'Challa 'controls' the dead, how he does it is clearly situational and explained in the story. Namor helped, too.
This Reed isn't super perfect nor the ultimate good guy. In Hickman's FF leading to Secret Wars, Reed was solitary and dedicated himself to his work at the expense of family. At least initially.

40:45 How the hell did Ben Grimm get so huge all of a sudden, being as tall as Galactus? (very_confused_emoticon) This also contradicts him being able to fit in a moderate cell earlier on, where we saw he was just a bit taller than Thanos, as the two were talking. Did I miss something and Ben Grimm somehow gained the ability to alter his size in the latest comics or was he merely blown up by the writers for the occasion? (aka "creative variable size")

Ok guys when I usually buy books I buy the best story and best characters. What do you guys prefer to buy? Infinity or Secret Wars? It seems like Infinity is great but I'm leaning on Secret Wars because of how much characters there are and people saying it's the best story yet. And the reason I'd chose Infinity is because Thanos is my favorite villain. Infinity or Secret Wars?

Maybe I'm wrong but does anyone else feel like Doom wasn't very evil in this story? Like, when he says "I did the best I could given the circumstances" and "I saved millions when Reed only saved himself" it really seems like he has a point
So that justifies creating a dictatorship where everybody is at his whims, killing when they disagree with him (Doctor Strange).
Doom did good with saving lives but he should have left the world building to someone else.
I never understood the argument that FF comics are gone because of film rights. It's because Fantastic Four comics haven't sold anything at all and X-Men have so many titles going for them that I just think the movie rights aren't the primiary reason.
This was such an epic adventure. Marvel was still Marvel and immediately after this they started making all these weird changes and sales plummeted! They're starting to climb out of the basement now but it's been a slow crawl. Make mine MARVEL FOREVER!!!

the funny thing is, Doom would actually have been a better leader than Reed. Reed would appear great and kind, but ultimately he would be a shitty leader and sacrifice everything for science. Doom would appear as a tyrant, and may very well be one, but ultimately he cares about ensuring his people survive, even if it means he has to be the bad guy.
